Good morning friends. I might as well write "ditto" to my above post as it will be hot again today. But, things could always be worse. It could be hot and my air conditioner broken. Wouldn't that be awful?
Mornin'. Well, I see my Facebook ban is still in effect. I think it was for 24 hours, so it should be lifted later today. I can still read all the other negative posts on Facebook though. Just can't respond. Next time some liberal makes a post, I think I'll claim it offends me and see what happens. Gonna be hot here in the corn and bacon state. Mid to upper 90's. Sure glad I got my doc and lab work done yesterday. Was gonna do the lab today. After I left the lab it was past near 5pm. One of my great grandsons was with us. I ask him if he was hungry. He said "yes". I ask where he wanted to eat. He said "McDonald's". So, we went there and stuffed ourselves on unhealthy, additive loaded food. It was deeeeelicious. I got a double cheeseburger and fries. So did great grandson. He can eat his own weight every day and stays the same size. Don't understand that. Can't let that kind of food become a habit again, so this morning I had coffee and 6oz's of yogurt. Last night on TV I saw a commercial for Serta mattresses. They called them "sleep systems". If a common mattress is a "sleep system", is a car a "mobility system"? Or, is a rifle a "shooting system"? I wouldn't want to be the person who called my gramp's guns a "shooting system". In his younger days he was quite rough around the edges, I hear. Below is an old photo I found, taken while dad was away in the war. I'm on the right with gramps. My aunt is in the middle and on the left is "that woman", what gramps called granny. Well, be careful out there today. Drink lots of water if your in the hot spots.

@Ike Willis , seeing things like this upsets me sooooooo much. Our freedoms and constitutional rights are being stolen more and more and it's like a psychological terror wondering "what's next?" Unless someone was threatened, or something is said that endangers lives (i.e. crying out fire in a crowded building) this is a freedom of speech issue. (@Ken Anderson , we need an "extremely mad" icon... that cute lil' dude with the white mustache isn't doing the job fully!)
It's more than that, Mari. You can't post porn, I'm not saying Ike posted porn but using that as an example. Porn doesn't hurt anybody, does it? I'm surprised that Ike's comment got removed though because I've seen so much worse, but I guess it's not reported, someone must have reported it. Facebook does say what can and cannot be posted in their Terms of service. Forums are even tighter in what can be posted. I don't know what's allowed on xenforo but I'm sure porn isn't or anything illegal. So, we really don't have freedom of speech. Yep, that wouldn't be considered freedom of the press... it oversteps. But I meant freedom of speech... personal opinions.
Facebook and some forums have terms of service you agree to though when you sign on. What can and cannot be posted. Anyway, something will always be offensive to somebody. That's been argued over and over in Art and it's a tough call to make...where you draw the line. I guess the bottom line is if you can dish out, you should also be able to take it as far as opinions go.
I didn't realize people could be banned on Facebook, a whole world of fun just opened up for me. Hahaha, I can be evil or angelic. Anyway I finally got my flowers and some other goodies since its the 12th anniversary of my husbands death. Bought some watermelon and bing cherries and other goodies at Trader Joe's. My dinner will be a little of this and a little of that. Kind of a tapas.

It's 75 and raining. Nothing much going on here. There's a big air show yesterday and today going on in the quad cities, about 30 miles upriver. Too hot for me, though I really like WW2 planes. My dad was a B-17 bomber mechanic. He said after they made repairs, one of the mechanics had to go along on a test flight. He always volunteered to go because he liked flying in those big birds. Well, I better go grab the laundry room before a line forms.
Good morning, 106 today and I think this is our coolest day this week. Still have a slight sore throat but it seems to go away during the day. Could be that the A/C vent is above my bed. Used to have a deflector type thing on it but that broke. Have a great day.
