Yes, I would have voted for him in the 80's....wish he would have kept it at the way he was, he seemed more humble but still self assured and confident. I find that more attractive than loud and brazen. I would have voted for him on his looks alone back then. Think I'll watch it again, didn't remember how good looking he was. Lately I've not been too impressed, hope it changes by November. I think deep down he is a moderate and I hope that's true. I don't like far right or far left...both sides scare me.
I can't get the quote function to work but wanted to quote Mari . I've seen similar vids and since it's edits, I'm sure the democrats can find other things that would not look so good. Hey, I'm just being fair and honest. Both sides will stoop as low as possible to win. It's politics!
The democrats are using every dirty trick their evil minds can come up with, to defeat Trump. Unfortunately, so are some republicans. I'll never again vote for a republican who refused to support the people's choice.
It's going to be a weird election for sure. Don't know if the anti trump republicans will have a change of heart At the last minute but without them, he'll probably lose.
I've been called Pollyanna (yeah, shocking, I know ) but I do believe that when it comes down to the midnight hour and brass tacks, the anti-Trump republicans will rally behind him. To NOT do that and letting a person with criminal activity and who knows what else win is just ludicrous. He *does* need a very well-liked running mate, though.
Have you seen some posts or photos of Trump by anti Trump Republicans on Facebook or other places? They are worse than anything I've seen from a democrat. I don't know, Mari but many of the ones I know stick to their principles and won't budge. Some will...
There are always speculations about potential running mates, sometimes made up by the person writing the story, but often put up as trial balloons to see if it garners support or controversy. Retired General Michael Flynn would be a better choice than Gingrich, I think. Although it seems that Gingrich might help him get elected, the offer of support from the progressives in the GOP if he were to select Gingrich might also turn out to be a negative. General Flynn might fit better with Trump's place as an outside of the establishment candidate, although I can't say that I know much about him. The NY Post is reporting that he is being vetted for VP. Since military personnel are expected to stay away from political opinions while in the military, it's hard to know where they stand on issues. Either way, it's not as if a Vice President has a real job, anyhow.
The good general would indeed be a fine pick if the anti-Trump Republicans in the Senate did not already have an agenda in mind. Simply put, they might back Trump as far as taking the presidency but they will look to gain control when said president presents a bill that the Senate does not care for. Rubio and Cruz have already made it abundantly clear that a President Trump will be stopped at the Senate level and more favorite bills already presented by the couple during their own fight for the candidacy. What I am getting at is the VP has got to be able to preside and oversee senate proceedings which someone with a lesser level of experience with that particular branch of government will not be able to do. One thing a military person does know is his own proficiency levels and in what areas he can do the most good and will undoubtedly be very candid regarding those abilities or lack of them. I am not totally sold on Gingrich but then again, it is not I who will have to depend on his or any other person's guidance when it comes to maneuvering through the barrage of lifetime political failures who still remain in the house and senate. So far as what job the VP does or does not do, I really, really believe that at this time in all of history we will find that the VP is going to have one of the most important positions than has been experienced in the last hundred or so years past.
I'm starting to see posts on Facebook urging every democrat and Bernie supporter who might not like Hillary to be sure to vote and make sure that the if Trump is elected the congress is democrat.
