Happy Monday, everyone! Gearing up for another hot one here... but only 91 this time so I guess that's a relief of sorts. I'm an autumn girl, though, so I'll be a lot happier when it's 61 or 51 instead of 91. I hope you all slept well. I actually slept until 2:50 a.m. this time, so maybe there's hope that my years-long sleeping problem is ... well, at least improving because it's often been 2:00. I have a [as the current generation says] "hecka busy week" lined up with work. All my own fault because I definitely put more work on my plate than I am able to chew unless I put 12 hours a day in... so that's what I'll be doing. I'm procrastinating the start of the day/week but... I guess I'd better hop to it like a good little bunny. Already made a pot of soup for my lunches this week. so that will save time. I hope everyone has a lovely, blessed, and sunshiny kind of day!
Mornin'. Lightning woke me around 3am, then rain. So, here I sit, all dressed and nowhere to go. TV pretty much sucked last night. So, on TCM I watched a Shirley Booth movie called "About Mrs. Leslie". It's a 1954 drama. A change of pace for me from my usual shoot 'em up fare. I liked it. Later, around 10:30 or so, "The Buddy Holly Story" was on. I saw that movie a dozen times, but every time I see it, I'm transported back to those simpler days of 1959, and my job in a wood working factory. The people I worked with, the smell of wood being cut, My old 1948 Plymouth coupe, old pals and hangouts, it all comes back. Great times, those. The other night I watched the movie "I saw the light", about Hank Williams Sr. That movie brought back memories too, of a different time. A time of barrooms, juke boxes blaring out country music, friendly barmaids, and a few gal pals I'd rather forget. I seem to be having another bout of insomnia. Also, lost my appetite again. I wonder if those two conditions are connected in some way? Not too likely, I guess. Other times I couldn't sleep but was eating ok. Oh well, it'll pass. Have a great day y'all, but don't enjoy yourselves too much. Liberals hate happy people.
Good morning and happy Tuesday! Looks like I might need that third cup of coffee! I hope you find what you are looking for, today! Gotta go....the coffee truck just pulled in!
Ike ! How right you are, listen to an old song, watch an old movie and we're instantly transported back to a time and place, sounds and smells - who needs a time machine Its well past mornin' here - so have a good rest of the day you lovely people Ike ! - put on some rock n roll - that'll liven you up
Good morning and happy salutations to one and all. For the past 36 hours, I have had no air conditioning in my home. The temperature has been 101 with lots of humidity. $251.00 later, I am cooling off. Goodbye money and thank you air conditioning man.
Good morning everyone. Poor Beth, how did you survive? $251 is a lot of money but so worth it when it's that hot. We are 100 today but I have air, just hate having it on constantly because my bill can come close to your bill amount, hoping it doesn't. Just got a call from my dr office and medicare approved my echocardiogram and stress test and I have an appt for July 21 at 1:30. Too bad, I was hoping they wouldn't approve it. Also approved my mammogram which hasn't been set up yet. Then I have my regular drs appt on aug 1 which I don't know why I have to keep if I'm going on the 21st. This has all been a new experience for me...all these tests In a month! Not happy. Oh, I still have to go for bloodwork too before my aug 1 appt.
Well its been a weird morning so far and its only 10am We get those days don't we, when nothing fits - ah well, on we go ............... Wishing you all a good day and Chrissy, hope things improve for you and soon
Lots of thunder and lightning woke me at 3:30am. It's gonna be one of those days. Hot, wet and humid. Just another day of nothin' to do, nowhere to go. Don't like to go out no more anyway. Groceries coming later. Had a strange dream last night. About 10:30pm I woke suddenly from a dream that I fell asleep in church and my mom was waking me up. I wonder if there's a message in that somewhere, and what it is if so. Last night I was gonna rent a movie but then TCM was running "The Naked Spur" so I watched it. Saw it several times, but I like Jimmy Stewart and the other actors in it, plus the beautiful outdoor scenery. Great old movie. Always said, if you want to see movies that were made the way they should be made, you have to watch the oldies. Even the old "B" movies had good acting, usually good photography, clean dialog, and loud, clearly spoken lines. Minimal sex scenes that usually involved nothing more than kissing. That's all I got so far. If you're in the mid west, stay dry, or run between the drops.
