I wonder why protestors always tear things down and destroy property. Can't they make a point without making things worse?

Mob mentality is a scary thing! I never understand how someone can get so worked up until they totally lose all sense of self control.

I've been watching a few more Youtube videos about Haiti. Very depressing and sad.

I have been reading on Twitter news about the gangs in Haiti and that they have become cannibals now, and are killing people, cooking and eating them right in the streets……. Too awful to even think about !
Does any of this affect you in the DR, @Martin Alonzo , and is this what is actually happening in Haiti ?
We have so many criminals and gang members coming over the border now, it is entirely possible that this could start happening right here in the United States if things keep on getting worse, like they seem to be. We would soon need to be under military law if this happens.

I saw this last night. I had to kill the video just a few seconds into it. There's a gang leader they call Mr. Barbecue. That's all I'll say, except as the guy was munching on a human limb, those in the street around him were not reacting, as though it were completely normal.

I also read this morning that the U.S. has sent in the military to evacuate "non essential" personnel out of our embassy in the capital (Port-au-Prince.)

    Shocking and very sad.

As to whether it could happen here, I doubt it. But it's always vital to know that you can defend yourself. Just a word to the wise who haven't done that yet.

"The video has not been independently verified by any news agency. However, according to Times Now, agencies on social media have revealed that the video is two years old and has nothing to do with the current unrest. Although the incident may be true, it is not related to the current situation in the Caribbean nation.

One user shared the video with the caption, “It turns out that this video is from over 2 YEARS ago of a battle between the Gran Grif and Ti Mepri gangs in the Artibonite Valley. It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Jimmy "Barbecue" Cherizier or today's uprising. The man pictured did this gruesome act to terrorize his rivals.” The post added that the reports came from journalists who covered the Haiti situation for years."

At the risk of sounding racist, it seems to me that the Haitian gangs are savages right out of the jungle. But what can we (The US) do about that?

We can stay out of it. My understanding is that Bill & Hillary made things worse there, and got very rich in the process. Perhaps @Martin Alonzo can chime in on that from the Haiti point of view.

And thanks for researching that. No one on that other forum where I saw the vid actually checked it out (and that includes me.)
