@Lon Tanner and @Bill Boggs , I wish I had those cars. They don't make'm like that anymore. The first one I bought entirely by myself is the one I have now; a 2012 Honda Accord.

Will try and put on a photo, but......

Anyway, a 1956 Chevy Bel Air. It was sitting in a corn field (already harvested) of a neighbor. I was in the second semester of my Senior year in high school. It cost me $75, but had to put some money into engine to get it running. It was white/brownish orange. Partly rusted. Repainted the thing Royal Maroon, with paint brushes, because the paint sprayer stopped working.

I was so happy to finally be able to drive to school, instead of taking the bus. Step-parents got rid of it when I was in the Navy.

A 1934 Plymouth sedan, with the Chrysler Corporation's patented "Free-Wheeling" feature.

I paid $35 cash for the car, which needed a muffler, so our neighborhood mechanic sold me a used muffler and welded it on for a dollar.

At that point I had $36 invested in the machine!

Here's a picture of one that looked just like mine:

As an aside. You once pictured a great looking trike with several speeds. Who made that. I think I'd like to get one @Hal Pollner

1962 Mercury Comet. I paid $100 for it, in 1971. It did 90 mph, no problem. Transmission fell out, I replaced it. Next one fell out, car got towed away by the Mafia. While it ran, it was a great car.

    Exact same car, same color:

A friend found a pair of them at an estate sale...His & Hers.
He got the one with all the options since he found them.

$1,000 for the pair of them...$500 each.

Until I hit 40, that was the most I ever paid for a car (with one exception.)
