Yikes! Scary, glad it wasn't worse. I'm sure you'll be sore. My legs are sore from the fast pace of the treadmill, not used to that.

@Ike Willis , we can't open our windows in the summer it's never cool enough...temps at night are still in the 90's.

We didn't have AC in the house when I was a kid, but in NW PA it wasn't really needed. I remember being really over heated only about twice, I considered sleeping in the bathtub! However, my parents do have Central AC now, and with global warming...it is necessary. I remember they got a room AC before they installed central AC. In Virginia though, I consider it to be an absolute dire necessity. I would not live here if I didn't have AC.

Good Morning, Y'all. We didn't have AC growing up, either. We kept the front hall curtains closed, and I loved lying on the tile floor in the 'dark' on the really hot days, it was very refreshing. In those days, it was a big treat to go to the movies, and it was always crowded, because everyone without AC at home was trying to cool off. It was always freezing in there, so I'd have to remember to bring a sweater, or shiver through the entire movie. I loved that old theater. It had an actual stage, a balcony, and also smaller balconies on the walls, as well as thick heavy red velvet curtains. Stay cool, everyone!

Happy Saturday! The air conditioner is working and there is food in the fridge. Plus, north Texas has a strong chance of rain this coming week. All is right in my small corner of yhe world. Thank you, God.

Mornin'. Yet another hot, humid day on tap here in Iowa. Well, Friday night came and went without a whimper. I haven't heard yet how the grandson did on the race track. He sure loves the sport.
I spent the night watching re-runs on TV. Couldn't even find a movie I wanted to see.
Way back, in the stone ages, Friday nights were something we looked forward to. As a child, it meant two days away from school. My parents did their grocery shopping on Friday nights. Saturday mornings was wash day for mom, and sale day for dad. He went to any auctions going on, or got a haircut and hung out with his pals. Every other Saturday morning he took me to the barber shop with him. I didn't mind those trips. After the haircut, we would visit the library, then the soda shop before going home.
When I was a teen, there was a dance at the local YWCA every Friday night.
In later years, I sometimes hung out with a guy named Dave. He was a riot. He knew a few words of German and could fake German quite convincingly. We would go to some restaurant we never been in before and he would pretend to not speak English, and I would pretend to interpret for him. We gave some of those poor waitresses a hard time. To make amends, we did leave a good tip.
    So, auf Wiedersehen. :)

Good morning everyone. Hottest day of the summer so far yesterday. Same expected today. @Yvonne Smith I hope you're feeling better. Falling down is one of the things I do best these days.

Good Morning. Had a nasty little storm come through yesterday afternoon, lost power and most everyone in my area has limbs down. Morning is nice, coffee is good, nice to be above ground.

It is another hot day here again, too; but supposed to have thunderstorms and rain later today; so I am going to forgo the plant watering (and possible tripping again). I am feeling pretty much back to normal again. We went to the fitnesss center yesterday, and i soaked in the hot tub for a bit longer than ussual, and then was careful wih the exercises afterwards.
We didn't have air-conditioning when I grew up either. At night, we left both the front and back doors open, and let fresh iar come in through the screen doors. In the morning, we closed the doors as soon as it started to warm up for the day, and we also pulled down the shades on the windows to keep the heat from the sun out. The house would still be pretty hot and miserable by that afternoon, so running through the sprinkler was one of the favorite afternoon pastimes for the kids in our neighborhood. Even a fan would have helped, ssince it would have at least circulated the air around some.
We had several shade trees in the yard, and my mom would often be outside relaxing in her hammock to cool down.
Swimming was always the preferred option, but not one that we could do all of the time.
Both Bobby and I have really enjoyed having the little pool outside this summer, and we cool off in there just about every single day ! !

Happy Saturday to one and all I . I was out early, and had breakfast out. That is one thing (of the many) I really don't like about this community, there is no decent place to have breakfast, the closest place is really below par, and I don't like it much, I think I got ripped off on the bill too, but it is really the only sit down breakfast place for miles. I got some bread and a can of cat food as well, so I should be good to hunker down for the next couple of days. I will swim tommorrow though..Hot, HOT, HOT...Can you say hot people????:oops::oops::cool::cool::cool:

Good Morning, Y'all. Happy Saturday. I know for many of us which day of the week it is isn't all that important, but I still like to know. The guy next door's been at it with some sort of power tool for several hours. There's company across the street, so I'll have an audience when I do my chores in a bit. They've been camped out there for several days. At least they're good people and having someone sit out there all day and part of the night discourages scrappers and others who come through looking for things they can steal and sell.

It's going to be another hot one. I don't have any big plans, other than the usual, and I'm planning to do some reading. The balcony plants are all watered, although my jasmine isn't looking very well and I think my gardenia may be gone :(. Sometimes they surprise me, though, and will come back to life, so my fingers are crossed. Hope y'all have a great day!

I'm feeling optimistic today - the weather forecast says 'something' will come in today to sweep away the humidity
Please let them be 'right' this time  :)
