Good Morning, Everyone. Another rainy one here, although not much thunder and no lightning. I think the heavy stuff is north of here, and I can deal with that. If the sun stays out of sight, it might be a little cooler than yesterday, which is just fine with me. @Sheldon Scott hope the shot helps if you get it. They usually help me. Have a good day, y'all.
@Ike Willis , I enjoyed your Sissy Spacek story! Glad to hear you are still hookin' 'em and reelin' 'em in. (Us included)
Ha, speaking of Sissy Spacek, she has or had a place in Virginia not far from here. There are a number of celebrities (those who are horse oriented) who like the Middleburg area and surroundings. It has had famous residents like the Smothers Brothers, Sissy Spacek, Robert Duval and others. In fact, I used to work with someone who used to ride and train horses for the brothers Smothers...that is funny! It is a pretty area, but probably gets a bit colder than California!
It rained today. We even had thunder. Plus we did not hit 100 degrees today. It was so nice to know the earth finally got a drink of water.
Mornin'. Today looks good weather wise, here in beautiful downtown Happy Hills, sprawled out on Iowa's east bank. What's making the town so happy, you ask? Well, Saturday the great Iowa bike ride, from the west border to the Mississippi river, ends in my town, making the downtown merchants so happy, they are giggling like school girls. And, as if that isn't enough, the quad cities annual Bix 7 mile run, which draws runners by the thousands from all over the world, is going on Saturday too. The quad cities is only 32 miles upriver from me. What will I be doing? It won't be biking or running, you can bet your butt on that. It might be fun to see if I could trick a few of the thousands of bikers that will be flowing into town. How would I do that, you say? Did I ever tell you about the time I 'lost' a wallet stuffed with currency? I didn't think so. I once lived in an apartment down town on a busy street. My apartment was on the second floor facing the street. Two doors down the street was/is a popular bar and grill. It was a Friday night, about 10pm. I was bored with TV. I had an old wallet that was about worn out. Having purchased a new one, I took the old wallet, stuffed it full of fake currency I obtained from I can't remember where. My front windows looked down on the street so, opening the window, I tossed the wallet out onto the sidewalk where I could see it, when no one was about. It wasn't long before four young gals exited the bar and walked up the street. One of them shrieked out a "oh, look" and picked up the over stuffed wallet. On seeing the edges of all the fake bills, they all excitedly ran back to the bar to spend their new found fortune, no doubt. A few minutes later, they were back on the street, all sad and disgusted, and I could hear loud laughter coming from the bar. So, that would be my plan. Drop an old wallet seemingly stuffed with currency on a walk downtown near that same popular bar, and watch the fun. Be watchful, 'cause you never know what's lurking out there.
Good morning, all! No biking or running, on this end! @Ike Willis , if we study the genuine article, it is easier to spot phonies!
Good morning all - yesterday was loverly, just like Spring Today a little hotter, hopefully I'll manage it - if you hear me holler You know why .................. @Ike Willis - we did glue a 'pound' coin to the floor, that was fun seeing people trying to prize the coin from the floor
Good Morning. Cooler, high of 79 projected and rain. Did my 'old guy' laps around the park this morning. No plans for the day, but I'll find some mischief to get into.
Ohhh wow, excellent TIM Burr! I wish we would have a high of 79! I think our's is going to be more like 92! Anyway, Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning to you. Good Morning, Good Morning and how do you do? I hope to do an mystery shop today. I am gonna have to get on that in a few minutes. The good news is kitty appears to be on the mend. He did wet alittle last night, and I have heard no litterbox crying.
@K E Gordon I must have missed a post, I didn't see anything was wrong with your kitty. Glad to hear he or she is doing better. @Ike Willis Imagine all of the commotion if you dropped that wallet at a political convention. There'd probably be a mob trying to get it. Good Morning, Y'all. It's overcast, and looks like rain, but none has hit the ground so far. I'm not even hearing any thunder yet. I put out bird seed the other day and the squirrels were all over the roof and balcony, making a lot of noise earlier, so apparently I'll have to give that up. one is on the balcony right now, messing around eating the woven part of my chair, which is about to break from being gnawed on. I blamed past incidents on raccoons, but I guess part of the blame goes to the squirrels. Hope everyone's having a nice day.
@Diane Lane - lovely though aren't they - woven chair to their liking eh .............must be sharpening their toothy pegs
Perhaps they take it and use it for bedding, too. I'm not sure, but this is the 2nd or 3rd set of chairs I've had to buy for the balcony. I have some resin chairs downstairs that I rarely use. I think I'm going to bring one of those up to the balcony. I've had those since around 1998, so they seem able to withstand anything, and have even survived a few hurricanes .
Hoping yestetdays rain made my okra plants happy. I am about to go into the backyard and see if they have been so happy that they made me some okra to pick. I am happy that I have another day to live and spend it as I wish. And I am glad that my brother with stage 4 cancer is alive and has friends who check on him and run errands for him.
Good morning and TGIF. It will be 97 degrees today in North Central Texas, And best of all my teen is getting his hair cut today. That makes me happy!
