In our recent travels, we have been availing of the choice seat in the plane, particularly in the first row which has the widest leg room. The Cebu Pacific planes have cramped leg room except in the first row. And it happens to be our favorite airline because of the frequent promo tickets. However, the seats in the first row have a charge of $10 per seat. It's a bit expensive but my husband doesn't mind as long as we are comfortable.

I've had that seat but I'm not so thrilled with it, they make you put your carry on up in the bulkhead and I like to put my feet on mine. Sure you can stretch your legs but I still don't find it comfortable.

For my trip to Illinois to visit my son and family on Sept 11 my son got me first class tickets and I do enjoy that!

He's gotten me first class a few times before and I love it and it's a long enough flight so that it's worth it.

One way we got lucky was when we flew to London the first time, we were in the first row behind the jump seats, where the flight crew would sit during take offs and landings. Thus the seats were only used at that time. So, consequently, since the seats would flip up, we had lots of leg room for most of the trip, far more than most of the coach passengers, so that was nice. I only flew first class once and it was on a domestic flight so it wasn't that exciting. We got it because the flight was only half full, or something, or we volunteered for a later flight.. I forget the exact circumstances.

When all of us traveled to Perth Australia Pip our youngest son was 8 months old. We flew Quantis Australian airline. The bulkhead had a baby bed that could be brought down, it was so handy when we had our meals.:)
