Who would have known that talcum powder can lead to ovarian cancer? Lawyers are swarming around, looking for people who have had talcum powder used on them while they were babies, which is most people, I think, as well as women who have used talcum powder for shower to shower dryness, or whatever, who now have ovarian cancer. The idea is that talcum powder manufacturers have known for years that there was a relationship between talcum powder and ovarian cancer, and hid these facts.
@Ken Anderson My personal belief here is that the legal "profession", and I use the phrase reservedly, if not discustedly, explores openly and constantly, ways and means of creating discourse within the lives of everyone, aimed at opening up avenues of revenue. The talcum powder deal is just about the worst yet. Next it may be the sugaring of grapefruit, cinnamon on rolls, or any other of the time-honored traditional embellishments. Frank
The only thing is if you do not sue these companies they will keep on putting out things that cause harm. A buck is a buck who ever it kills
This ill treatment of consumers has been going on for years, at last, in some respects - things are changing But - they have a long way to go
I prefer the days when lawyers did not advertise on tv. All of the advertising makes them look like low class ambulance chasers.
The old joke what is the difference between a skunk or lawyer getting killed on the highway. There are skid marks before the skunk. I agree that most lawyer have bad reps and then they go into politics. At one time in the US it was not possible for a lawyer to run for office
Gee, we were born and raised on talcum powder. In fact, we are still using the most popular brand of talcum powder here, the name of a former US president. But in fairness to talcum powder, I don't think that study is not conclusive yet. Here we go again with scientific studies of what's causing what. Not to be a skeptic but there are lots of studies I have read with a disclaimer at the bottom that it is not conclusive yet. So maybe that study on talcum powder vis-a-vis ovarian cancer is not that conclusive yet otherwise the company will go bankrupt.
I agree, Corie. I don't use it anymore and never used it too much. Not even on my daughter, used other products which I thought were better. After a shower I would just sometime sprinkle powder on my body but not in that area anyway. I'm not concerned.
