I am posting this as an info for those who may have the same malady. Some years back, my husband was complaining that his eyes were sore in the morning and the pain was like it was bruised. After some weeks of enduring the pain, he went to an eye doctor. The ophthalmologist checked his eyes and the verdict was drying eyes. When the eyes are dry, it would be painful because the eyes need lubrication and the natural lubrication is tears. He was prescribed an eye drop called artificial tears.

But his drying eyes are not regular. There are times that he would wake up at night with painful eyes that he would use the eye drop and mostly it is his right eye only. But there are nights that his eyes were fine. Even after so many years of using the eye drop, which is effective, we still cannot determine why his right eye is drying.

My eyes for some reason only feel dry at night, not during the day. I wonder why that is. It doesn't bother me very much, but I was thinking if it gets any worse, I might try something like artificial tears.. Oh the joys of getting older...! not! Everything dries up. Oh well, what can you do? You can't halt the progression of time. It just takes it's toll, however, that doesn't mean that you can't make yourself as comfortable as possible along the way!

I get dry eyes. I use a lubricant eye drop. Right now my eyes are dry because I have fans blowing on me all day but usually it's because I'm on my ipad a lot. I've noticed my eyes are okay when I'm visiting somewhere and I'm not on my ipad.

I don't have blurred vision or infection just my eyes feel dry and I've always been light sensitive. My eye dr told me to use drops.

I probably could use a dehumidifier here. It's dry all year long in my house. I do the other things.

The problem with a dehumidifier is it lets out warm air out the back, noisy too

I've had a years worth of noise this past week, Patsy. Fans, and that portable AC unit...the only place we could find was to have the hose suck the hot air out the vent in the laundry room...that vent is noisy and so is the unit! Plus I couldn't do laundry this week. As soon as my AC is working that's the first thing I need to do.

    My head hurt all week.

I've been buying the cheapest lubricant drops maybe I should go with the more expensive ones.

I have had dry eyes for decades. I keep a small bottle of otc eye drops that provide some relief.
