The disco was very popular in the 1970s. It is the haunt of the teenagers especially for the wealthy since the entrance to the disco is no joke - most disco bars here are located in 5-star hotels. No, I haven't experienced going to the disco because I was still young at that time and besides, my parents were so strict and selective with my friends. But from what I gathered, the disco is one good place to find friends. When the social media became popular, some friends say that Facebook is just like the disco where you can gain friends. But I know that disco is for dancing and my feet are not.

The Hotel I work at was built in the 70's and on one blueprint I found, there was a 'Disco Room' featured.
The plans even showed where the mirrored 'ball' was to be hung and how to secure it.
I can just picture the wallpaper they used!

Facebook is like disco? Not my Facebook, lol.

I don't really meet new people on Facebook, I add people that I already know to Facebook.

Guess it's different for everybody. I'm getting to the point where I may actually delete my acct.

I was in my later 20's when Disco was in high gear. I did go to a few Disco Clubs, but wasn't into the dancing much. One club I went to was a previous Greyhound Bus Station. Half of the club was rock n roll while the other half was a disco. At the time, I had the high-heeled Disco shoes, slim Bell-Bottom slacks and shirt with a big collar. Another club I went to was a gutted out Princess Cruise Ship made into a Disco and Backgammon Game area.

Shoot, we have Disco music in our cd collection, have the Blue-Ray movie, Saturday Night Fever, Disco Concert (DVD) 2004 Get Down Tonight and the last concert at the MGM The Bee Gees done.

Actually, Disco was the next Generation of terrific Black singers and groups after Motown. Groups like, Taste of Honey, Pointer Sisters, Sister Sledge among others. Disco definitely wasn't all about The Bee Gees, but they were great also.

Most "Rockers" at the time hated Disco, but not me.

Ah, Backgammon. That was one good thing to come out of the Disco era.
Most of the bars where I was living had boards and tournaments.
We still play every so often; no matter how hard I try, my wife 'owns' me at Backgammon.

John Travolta was definitely a hot dancer in Saturday Night Fever and Stayin' Alive.
