@Ina I. Wonder - Ina, we have done 'all' of the things we wanted to get done, maybe that's why I'm so doggone tired now Its all caught up with me - 'ere I'm becoming more Americanised - me Father would have been proud
Good morning everyone! @Ike Willis , you outdid yourself with that story, cracked me up! @Patsy Faye missed you yesterday, I don't like it when you're not on here for me all day. glad you're somewhat better today. We are starting to warm up again, 80 today. The weekend will be in the 90's. Yesterday I was at the store and looking for a bday card for my sister, it's her bday the 12th but it's also my mom's bday the 9th and seeing the bday cards for mom made leave without getting my sister one. I'll give it another try today or I'll just send her an ecard, I'm sure she'll understand. Have a great day, everyone....and remember...it makes me happy when I see my friends on here!
@Chrissy Page Hello Chrissy, I miss you too believe me Understandable about the birthday card, still raw for you One day you will be able to think of her with smiles, she would want that Chrissy. You were blessed to have such a lovely Mum xx
From what I've read in posts - sounds like you made it I wanted to be the opposite of my Mother - I made the grade too
Thanks, yes I did and I owe it to my mom. Glad you did too..despite your mom. My dad was my sore point but my mom made up for that so that I still managed a great childhood.
Yea - must be amazing to have 'two' good parents My Dad had the makings of a good Father 'if' he'd had a decent wife
My father was good to my mother and that's the only thing I can forgive him for. He just didn't like me, my sisters just thought he was strict. I'm the oldest so maybe he mellowed by the time they came around.
Funny that - the opposite for me. My Mother tried to abort me but I wouldn't go - she never forgave me for that Its important that your Father was good to your Mum, the opposite would have been horrendous for you Such a shame for us both .........not fair, but that's life
Yep, how awful for you but you survived and so did I and we both turned out to be wonderful people. Hugs to both of us. There's a bunch of reasons why my dad probably didn't like me but that will take a page....
Good Morning, Y'all. I decided to read a bit before hopping online, and managed to finish the book I was reading. It's a sunny one, but not too hot, thankfully. I'm going to head downstairs and make a pot of coffee and some food in a bit. More of a brunch than breakfast, but that's o.k., saves me from making two separate meals. The kitties were all fed earlier, and I've already had my tea up here. @Ina I. Wonder That sounds like a good plan, one more holiday. @Chrissy Page is right, your loss is still fresh, and maybe another holiday in the old place will be just what the doctor ordered for all of you. I often wonder that also about Haiti and other such places. So many people donate so much money to charities, and yet these places never seem to improve. I know they get repeated storms, etc., but I have to wonder if the money is being skimmed off the top, withheld by corrupt government in those places, or what? It doesn't seem as if the people are being helped much, ultimately. Hope everyone is having a nice Thursday!
Mornin'. Hope everyone is safe and well this fine Friday mornin'. Last night, I was sitting there happily watching TV, when WHAM! Around 10pm all hell broke loose. Thunder, lightning, wind, rain, and tornado warning sirens. It came really sudden, like someone flipped a switch. About a half hour later, it was quiet and peaceful again. At least where I was. Some places nearby lost power and had trees down. The upside is, it's much cooler today, and for many days, it looks. Do you ever wonder what happens to insects when severe storms hit? Where do they go? Do they blow away or be killed? What? This year many low places are still flooded. Soon, there will be a frost. What happened to all the ants? Were they drowned, or just float away to another place? If I was an insect, I'd climb to the top most branches of a tall tree, just to look around. Once there, I'd probably be just in time to see a hungry sparrow zooming in, beak open, right at me. While I'm pondering all this, I hope you all have a great day. Stay safe and well.
@Ike Willis - yes I do wonder about the animals (not so much insects ) where they go - how they cope. Even for sea life it must be scary Good to hear it was just a blast for you and nothing too severe, hope the same can be said for others here Well dare I say .............it's here (decided not to say it ) Hope all is well for you all Xx
