The death of the US and probably the world. The U.S. political parties have now exposed themselves as being the same. The news media is all controlled by the same elites. The justice system can only attack anyone except the elites and then flaunt it if front of everyone. They have been politico correctness so you cannot express anything you think. Bringing in people into the country who will not integrate and would change all the laws and if you do not like it you are racists.

Yep, it's depressing! I'm glad I'm not born in today's world. Seems we're going backwards.

I don't get into politics that much. The way things are, are simply "the way things are". I think we've had worse times in the U.S., and we've had better times. When so many things are run by money today, if the money isn't there, it just isn't there. Or, as the old saying goes, "money talks and everything else walks". As far as Freedom of Speech goes, we've got it, it's just that some folks go way overboard with that "Freedom". Some think they can say anything at any time. With Freedom of Speech, can come criticism for what is being said. Whatever some people say, they also have to be ready for those comments from those that don't see it the same way. A forum member, on any forum, does a new Thread about how they feel about something, that person has to understand that others may not feel the same way and criticism comes out towards the person.

Unfortunately, "going backwards" in America has been going on for years upon years. About the only happy people out there are those with money that live a comfortable lifestyle and are decently healthy. Not everyone is happy that have money, but many are.

The Uk has been like this for a few years now... out in the open where it's obvious to even the most politically unaware... where it can no longer be ignored.

Welcome...you are about to Go back to the Future and meet your maker George Orwell in 1984...and it's going to be a hackava rough old road

And, how do you propose the "wake up call" being done? Just wondering.

96% of people do not trust the MSM but they don't know who to trust and slowly moving to the alterative media. Beliefs are very hard to change but when that happens you will see the other people joining in. You will see people that will have that OMG moment

Putin gather the major news media’s and said what the U.S. is doing they are dragging us to war.
The main street media did not report it. Does the main street media want us to go to war??
President Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex who loves wars and backs the government.

I guess I'm not as pessimistic as some in our Country. I would still rather live in the United States than anywhere else on God's Green Earth. We DO still have freedom of speech and so many other liberties and freedoms citizens of other countries do not. As the old adage says, "freedom of speech" does not include shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater. Some, today, suggest freedom of speech should include berating and verbally attacking our fellow citizens. In some cases that may be Constitutionally correct. In other cases, why would we want to tear down our friends and neighbors... fellow citizens... by denigrating them?

This Great Country has seen challenges, met them, and conquered them. From the World Wars to natural disasters to disease epidemics to financial disasters to ..... We WILL come through this difficult time!! Will our Country appear exactly the same 10, 20, 30 years from now as it die 10 years ago? Of course not!! I don't know that I would like to go back to the Presidency of Richard Nixon... Viet Nam... the 60's drug culture and demonstrations against the government... or so many other trying times. My Grandmother didn't think the Country would survive a Catholic as President when Kennedy was elected. She just knew the Pope would be sitting in the White House. If she could only see the White House today...... ???!!!!

The future of our Country will soon be in the hands of our children and grandchildren. The kids selling drugs on the street corner... the youth looting businesses and burning buildings in the name of political demonstrations... the elected officials who have served in Congress for 20 to 30 years and become comfortable padding their pockets with lobbyist dollars... those are NOT the people who will meet the challenges and take our Country forward. Our own children and grandchildren... our youth who appreciate who we are and where the Country has come from are the folks who will mold the United States of tomorrow. The WILL meet the challenges and they WILL keep this Country strong.

Today's United States has multiple hurdles to cross. We have tried for over a decade to be the World's police force. Somehow, we need to continue strengthening our military... not to put police forces in foreign nations that have had warring cultures for centuries... but to have the ability to stand tall when Russia or China or North Korea types threaten our very own safety and security. We have a growing culture of "entitlement" which is reft with corruption. We MUST bring about a "cleansing" of the corrupt in our social service programs so we can afford to assist those in real need. And, we MUST find a means of being tolerant of other people's political beliefs, religious beliefs, and cultural beliefs while not allowing the democratic process that has made us great to be subrogated by the misuse of the term 'politically correct'.

This mantra that has become so prevalent that our Country is failing and needs "made great again" forms a fear and anger within us. When we are gripped with fear and anger we strike out as those we are told is the cause. Instead, we must understand how GREAT we really are as a Country and how much we enjoy that so many in this world do not. God bless America! We will make it through this election cycle and we will move on to the next chapter in American history.

And that is why Hillary is not the choice....

Also that freedom of speech is getting smaller and smaller and I'm not even talking about hate speech. I don't like hate speech,

I'm talking about clown costumes being pulled from stores or tranny granny....people can't even joke.

As a woman I don't like being joked about or seen as a sexual object but I believe you can say whatever you want in private, I don't want my private conversations to be something I have to worry about like my husband did when he lived in Communist Hungary.

Here we are possibility weeks away from a world war. The terrorists that they keep talking about ISIS the Americans are supplying and being their air force. The legal system unable to go after people because they have a name Clinton and anyone one that knows them gets immunity. The Medicare system is falling apart. The vets are being mistreated. The unemployed is getting worse. The country infrastructure is falling apart. There is riots in the streets. The country is in big trouble. What do they talk about is Trump said something many years ago and some woman said he touched her 35 years ago. Then tell me the U.S. is not dieing

I find this easy to agree with 100%. I see the way the US has changed in my time. And although I didn't really get into any sort of political discussions, or start seeking out truth for myself, until about 2 years ago, I have learned a lot. It's both frightening, but also no shock that it is happening. I'm a student of the bible, and although I am not much of a true follower of Christ, I have never found anything that makes more sense than the bible, imo of course.

The bible talks about how things will go, and I see those things coming true, and have been coming to pass for lots of years, how about 2,016 years. Whether or not you believe that, whether you are left or right, I doubt in your heart that you can say things are better now that God is pretty much left out of so many of our lives, and sadly, our country. Oh well, that's freedom, we have to take the bad with the good and today many people believe what ever they think in their head is ok, is. I do not for a minute think it will get better and better. We will keep seeing some good things accomplished by some good folks but this battle will go on until the end.

At this point in my life, some days I cry because I have no family, no children. On the other hand, I would hate to think of a child (remembering saying the pledge of allegiance at school growing up) growing up in the upside-down world:(

I don't think anyone is gonna be all depressed because of me writing this. Some don't believe it, some don't care because they have it good for themselves, and don't care about those suffering or going to suffer. Some days I don't give a damn about anyone else either. Well, I say that, and still have a tear develop in my eye wishing the world was a perfect, everyone loves everyone kind of place. I like to say that the only thing God did wrong was giving man/woman a brain. Love the definition I heard of Ego too, Edging God Out. Congratulations, we've just about got that taken care of here in the US of A:(

Maybe the rain is getting me down.

Exactly, for example, calling the part of the US that doesn't want hillary for president, deplorables, homophobics and the list goes on.

@Martin Alonzo, the US is not dying. Even if it was, you're in the Dominican Republic so you're safe.

People from other countries need to stop wringing their hands and look in you own backyard. OTOH those living in the US who don't like it are free to find another country, pack up, and leave.
