Some time language can be very misleading especially when it comes out of a mouth of the so called intelligent upper class. For an example: I called an old academic professor friend and asked what he was doing. He replied that he is working on "Aqua-thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum and steel under a constrained environment". I was impressed...... On further enquiring, I learned that he was washing dishes with hot water .......under his wife's supervision.
Ha ha, thankfully I was able to translate that, since I perform that function on a regular basis myself, minus the supervision. To me, the worst is when people misuse words, or use language to try to talk down to others. Know your audience and speak/write accordingly.
