I can't believe he actually had the strength to do this by himself. I thought for sure I was going to read something about him lassoing the deer and dragging him out of the pool, but wow, he did it all with his own strength. I'm always happy to read stories of animals that have been rescued from harrowing situations, because it renews my faith in mankind. Here's a link to the story.

He looks fit enough to rescue 2 deer at once! :)

My baby sister in NJ, the one with the 13 acres and house on the lake and an inground swimming pool has deer, bear, foxes etc all the time. I'm surprised none have made it into her pool....plenty of frogs though. :)

Kids have more fun getting the frogs than swimming.

Kudos to the state trooper. I think alot of people would try to save an animal if they could, it is nice to know that the trooper was able to do this. Sadly, one of the people who lives in this development, a guy I know slightly because I once bought a small motorcycle from him, his dog drown in a neighbors pool. That was really sad. He is single, and I am sure that dog meant the world to him. He has another one now, that looks much the same as the other one, I just hope he keeps a better eye on it.

A story about animal rescue is always a nice read for me. Even though I am not fond of cats, I still enjoy reading anecdotes about saving cats on the tree. Maybe this penchant for rescuing animals is what made Disney create his cartoons with the thought that people will love even a scary mouse which later on became lovable and not scary anymore particularly to women.

On the contrary, I hate watching news of pets that are abused or neglected.

That's for sure, @Chrissy Page, he does look pretty muscular. I don't care for Micky and Minnie Mouse, either. I worked with rats in the lab at school and so I don't fear them, but of course lab rats are different from those looking to gnaw your face off. I don't find mice that scary, but I despise cockroaches.

I also love animal rescue stories. There have been a lot of stories in the news recently about animal abuse, and I find them very disturbing. I can't always read them. I tend to seek out stories like this, instead.
