Are you fond of reading comic magazines? My husband buys comics magazines in the bookstore regularly. He would read that at night after doing the newspaper's crossword puzzle. He said that it is good to read humor before sleeping so he would be in a jolly mood in the morning. It's actually the subconscious that he's talking about. The comics magazines he buys are the small ones, thin with about 24 or 32 pages only that can fit the back pocket of the pants. But those comics books seem trash to me because the jokes there are trite, corny, boring. You know, I only read those comics books when I go to the toilet, hahahaaaa.
When I was a young snot of a kid I had a comic book collection like most kids. Liked the western ones best. Back then I thought I wanted to be a cowboy. Used to read comic strips in the newspapers, when I still got papers. No longer do though.
My grandfather owned the IGA store in town. He was credited for any comics, magazines or paperback books that didn't sell after a period of time, and rather than sending them back, the policy was to cut half the front cover off, sending just that portion back to show that they hadn't sold. There weren't many magazines that I was interested in, but I would then get a cardboard box full of books and comics for free. Obviously, not collectibles with half the cover missing but no one my age, around me, ever thought about collecting them anyhow. We read them, then gave them to someone else who'd read them.
Yeah, I used to have a huge collection of comic books, until my wife threw them all away, complaining they were too childish. I still read them on the computer and on the tablet, as there are loads of online apps which have digital comic books for sale.
I used to read comic books when I was a little kid. Roy Rogers was (of course) my most favorite, but I also loved Lash LaRue, and Rex Allen and Koko. Once I started reading regular books, I pretty much lost interest in comic books, although I loved all of the pictures, and was always drawing the horses from the pictures in the stories. They also had some of the classical books made into comic books, and I remember reading things like Ivanhoe, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Robinson Crusoe, and Uncle Tom's Cabin, all in the classical series. I always wanted to grow up and become a cowboy (well, cowgirl, anyway) @Ike Willis , and I think that never changed. For most of my life I have had horses, and loved trail riding. Not so, anymore. I live in town, so the horseback riding days are just one of my special memories now; but one of the things I miss the most.
I loved almost each an every comic book when I was kid, and then began to collect some through my teens, mostly Garfield, Peanuts, Snoopy, and others of this style that I can't remember, as I don't remember exactly when I stopped buying them. Later, in the early 1990s, I was trapped on animated TV series such as The Simpsons and X-Men so that I began to buy The Simpson Comics and the X-Men trading cards, collection that I gave to my sister about a decade ago because I don't longer like to collect anything that I cannot put into a hard drive, and if it is already on hard drive, why do I need the originals? I don't have those comics digitized though. I don't longer like comics at all except comic strips
