Mornin'. It's warmer here today, only down to the 40's last night. However, it rained off and on all night and supposed to today too. Good. Maybe one day, if I pray hard enough, I'll wake up to a fluffy thick white blanket over the brown, ugly ground. It's no secret, I love a good snow.
I got Fox news on TV this AM, as I type. I see Hillary is still trying to cause trouble. After all the count and re-counting, Hillary could make history as the only woman candidate who lost the same election, twice. th (9).jpeg
Sorry, but I kill myself sometimes.
I shouldn't laugh because I almost feel sad for the silly girl. I know what it's like to want something so bad, and think you're actually going to get it, then have it yanked away from your reach.
When I was 18 years old, I used to see this gal drive around in a red convertible. I so wanted to meet her. Then one day, I did and we began dating. I thought I died and went to heaven. She was fun to be with. She was built the way I like them. A few extra pounds in all the right places.
Then, fffffttt! Gone, just like that.
It turned out, our families had a history I never knew about. It went clear back to the early 1900's and involved a uncle of my mom. Uncle married into my GF's family.
Later, there was an incident involving my GF's mom and one of my uncles. That's all the detail I'm disclosing.
I didn't tell my parents who I was dating for some time. When they found out, the crap hit every fan in the place. Suddenly neither my gal nor I was allowed to see each other.
So anyway, I left town for the summer. When I came back, my old GF was engaged to someone. I got a job, bought another car and met another gal. My parents didn't like her either, but I married her anyway.
So, I can feel Hillary's pain. But, politics is a filthy business, and the Clintons are among the filthiest politicians.
Enjoy what you now have. You never know when it will be yanked away.

@Ike Willis....love your life stories, and your way of sharing them. It is chilly here this morning, after I finish my coffee I'm going to go back and snuggle under the covers for awhile. Hope everyone enjoys their day! :)

Good Morning, Y'all. @Ike Willis Are you a Hatfield or a McCoy? That's what I thought of when I was reading your story. I can relate about the rug being pulled out, on a few counts. But, it teaches us to deal with disappointments. I guess it's better to learn that somewhat early on, rather than for the first time late in life. We might be getting some severe weather today. I can never remember if @Ina I. Wonder is Northwest or Northeast of me, but they're leaning towards the NE. Hopefully we'll all be spared, because there was mention of tornadoes. I caught the drama earlier as the storm clouds were rolling in, over the blue sky. Now it's almost all overcast, although there's a brighter yellowish section down by the beach. I'm hunkering down regardless, have lots to do here, including a bit of reading. @Patsy Faye I really do like the drapes, extremely so. If I had my own place and money, I'd buy more. But, hopefully if I can ever afford my own place, it will have some insulation ;). Hope everyone's having a good day :).

Hi @Diane Lane, I live around the very N. E. Corner of the Sam Houston Pkwy, (Belway 8). I'm looking into a grant that could help with the repairs I need on my cabin. If I get it, I've decided to stay her.

    I hope your feeling better.

Mornin'. Are you anxiously awaiting the announcement about Trump's cabinet, promised for today? When Trump was still campaigning, all I ever heard was "Trump has no experience. He'll ruin the country." I always argued that he would no doubt surround himself with people that had all the experience he lacked. And, he is.
Last night I watched some kind of war movie. Can't remember the title, but I gave it about 1 1/2 stars. There was a scene where two truckloads of bad guys attacked the good guys. Bad guys dismounted the trucks and there was a helluva fight. Bad guys dropping right and left. Survivors ran for the trucks and took off. There was still two trucks loaded with bad guys. Area was littered with dead bodies, but that didn't thin 'em out a bit. I puzzled over that the rest of the night.
When I was a wee snot, I saw photos of my dad and all his brothers and some of my other uncles in their military uniforms or taken as they worked on planes or in their combat gear etc. I decided I wanted to be a soldier when I grew up. When I was about to graduate from high school, I still wanted that.
A school mate of mine and I went to see a army recruiter. He got through the physical and went on. He never came back. A heart defect kept me out. Now they call it congestive heart failure.
My parents must have been terribly disappointed in me. Not only did my heart thing keep me out of school sports, but I was never a scholar either. The nuns would tell my parents, "he just don't care." I passed all the tests though, and they kept moving me through the grades.
My brother must have dashed any hopes our parents had for him too. When lil' bro was around ten years old, he was deeply interested in the priesthood. He studied up on it, and kept his grades up. Even learned to play the organ. Now, there's an instrument I hate hearing played.
Anyway, bro kept this up until his teen years, at which time he made two life changing discoveries. One was girls, the other was motorcycles. And so, the priesthood lost him forever.
Did you ever hear the words or phrase " he's trying to find himself?" I never quite figured out what that meant. I had this gal pal who had four sons. One was 26 and still living at home. He was always at home. If we wanted to get intimate, we had to use my place. One day I bluntly ask her "what's the matter with Wally?"
"Oh, he's just trying to find himself."
"FIND HIMSELF? KICK HIS AZZ OUT AND HE"LL FIND HIMSELF WORKING,"
And I found myself having to look for a new gal pal.
So, have a great toosday y'all.

To me, snow meant speeding down the hill in our front pasture, on my sled. Snowball fights, snow forts and igloos. In later years, it meant some great days hunting rabbits with great friends. And as an added bonus, a heavy snowfall made my junk filled yard look as good as all the neighbors yards. At least, for a while.:D
