Good Morning, Y'all. The sun is shining, and it's burning off the fog. The people of Tennessee are on my mind. The fires are horrible, and spreading. I hope the firefighters are able to get them under control. I snagged a deal on a free Roku (created a thread under Gadgets, with link to the deal), and am excited for it to arrive. I already have one, but when I unplug & carry from room to room, it seems to lose pairing w/remote, so I wanted a 2nd one. Once I get caught up on a few shows, I'll check out Sling, which I now have, related to that deal. I was up fairly early, thanks to the neighbor's dogs. The heavier drapes do dull some of the noise, but I can still hear it loud and clear through the back windows/sheers. I swear, though, the kitties & I all sleep better with just this one small change. I'm having another virgin hot toddy, still really congested. It sounds as if everyone's doing at least o.k., which is sometimes all we can ask. @Ina I. Wonder I'm interested to hear how the process goes. I hope you're able to get that funding and get the needed repairs, so you can stay there, because it seems that's what you really want. Keep us posted!
@Terry Page - I didn't see your picture earlier, I do have a Specsavers appointment though Its a truly great picture !
Beautiful verse and flowers Babs, good morning to you as well I haven't been getting outa bed til 9 here, and I feel so much better if I get up earlier Have a great day, this just caught my eye as I was looking for the last post denise
Woohoo, I am missing the snow! I don't think we'll get any here on the coast, but I hear it's happened, lol
Morning Diane, I can't say enough about Apple Cider Vinegar for congestion. I don't know it works for everyone, but I use it for that, as well as other things like stomach upset. Just a tbsp in about 1/2 cup of water. I use the organic but it isn't way expensive at Walmart Big, glass jar of it Irrigating your sinuses with real sea salt is good too, although I'm not sure if you are talking lung or sinus congestion. I don't know about lung congestion. Hope it all clears up for you, and yes, I need to pray for the folks involved in those fires I love my Roku, and finding lots of Christmas movies to watch, either on Netflix, or a few on Youtube as well denise
I picked Netflix so far, never tried Hulu They have sooooooooo many "apps" or "channels", but my faves, so far, are Netflix, Youtube (tons of old movies, full movies) and I like Plex.
@Denise Happyfeet , Yvonne got me hooked on Netflix, And now I'm finding that you don't need all those big cable packages. I looking into different cable packages now. Michael had signed a two year contract with Comcast just before he died, and I've been paying $186 a month for it, but the contract is up next month, so I'm looking for ways to cut that bill down. I do like my Comcast internet connection, it is so fast, so I don't want to change that. Denise is that avatar picture of you as a little girl, if so I think it's cute.
Hello Ina, you should be able to get "wifi" only with comcast. That's what I do with Charter. Mine is 44 a month with tax. It was on a special move in deal, so it's going up 20 dollars, so it will be like 64 or so. I get a lot of shows with my Roku 2. If you need to hear better, I would get the Roku 3 with a headphone jack in the remote-control. We can talk more about it, I'll be glad to help you, along with Yvonne. I also pay one of thing, 7.99 a month for Netflix. So it still can get up there, but I have internet/wife, TV Shows and Movies (no commercials) and Yvonne I know has found good sources for news, and probably plenty of other things I don't know how many options you have in your area for wifi, but imo, the cable is the best source. Although different States/Cities, may have many more I don't know about The best thing about the Roku is it's a one time charge to buy it, so no monthly fee and you can pick and choose what you watch, and when you watch it. Ok, way off track for the Good Morning thread I guess, but yes, that's me when I was about 4 I think. I know I was not yet in school and I wanted to be Annie Oakley, LOL! I love that photo of you, I was going to comment on that today. I just got back from a walk, it's sunny for a change, no rain, but some due again hugs, denise
@Ina I. Wonder We are in the same boat, have Xfinity and enjoy the internet speed, but the cable cost is a bit much. I work downtown and the Xfinity Wifi Hotspots are everywhere I turn. Since you have to log in, it's not a public hotspot. Keeps my stuff just a little more secure. Did a test with wired and wireless and I'm getting around 92 Mbps download speed at home. Guess will keep it till we both stop working. Then who knows.
@Tim Burr , Good to know I'm not the only one to be in this fix. I've been with comcast since 1992, and I find their service the best around Houston. This area also has Direct TV and Dish, but those that I've talked to say they have a lot of problems with them. My grandson said I should be able to cut my bill in half. It seems my Michael had the biggest package they offered for some years. I just never cared before, mainly because he never wanted much, so I felt he deserved it. But I never watch more that the basics, so it's whittling time for me. @Denise Happyfeet, you still have those big dark eyes. It's funny how just one feature will follow us through out our lives. Mines my big ears.
We all have things about us that we don't think are attractive. But I love how the Creator has made us all different, infinite variety!! I feel ugly sometimes, and think if I could only change this or that. I'm glad I can't, and don't have the money. I have a couple of fave stars that I felt heart-broken when they had their faces changed, they don't look like the stars I knew at all anymore
Good Morning have a great Wednesday, it's -2c out 24c indoors so warm and cosy, it's municipal heating so you don't have any control over it. It's currently a bright morning but not so sunny as yesterday, going for a metro ride to do some shopping today..
