Apologies might have misunderstood the thread connotation. Perhaps stalking is not a good phrase to use in a thread especially about lovely member. Before it gets misunderstood like I can see it already has. In no way did I refer to @Ike Willis as a stalker. I was referring to stalkers in general. Hope that is understood. Jeez.
Ike, we were all worried about you when you were ill...everyone was going around like headless chickens asking if anyone knew you're address so we could send you a card but no-one knew it, and everyone agreed with Admin that it might be an invasion of your privacy to attempt to track you down, but believe me if any and all of us had, had your address, you would have been invaded by cards,,, we really were very concerned..
Perhaps using you as an example might have been a mistake for I now see which direction the posts have gone. All I was truly trying to put out there is that even though the intentions might be that of a good will gesture, in most cases I believe it to be prudent when doing any investigating other members. Although the thread does have everything to do with stalking, my post was merely another side of a coin which isn't considered stalking but can be construed as an invasion of privacy depending upon the person whose information is being sought after. I haven't gone back to that thread where you were sick but there were, if my memory serves me, a couple of people who thought it wrong to go to such lengths even though you are a much loved person here on Seniors. In this case, it might sound a bit hypocritical of me but although I am very, very reluctant to go after another person's info, I did like hearing that you were located and prayers were needed. My humble apologies for any confusion as to the temperment or the reasoning I submitted my post.
Exactly ! So, post your address, @Ike Willis , and we will all send you cards to your heart's content (kidding). You are a much-loved person on this forum, and everyone was worried and wondering how to find out if you were okay.
I am completely at a loss with this thread. Have there been cuts.? Why do members put you on ignore too. Get two sides of a story please. I am going to cool off. Big time
I knew exactly what you meant, I'm sure Ike did too Its not for everyone to be checked up on, fortunately Ike was fine with that
I feel that way too, sometimes. I'm not sure what you mean by cuts. Compared to many other forums, I rarely ban anyone and when I do, it's usually only for a short time, just in order to let things cool off. As I said in another thread, I much prefer people not "ignore" one another but that option is available if the alternatives are worse. Sometimes it might make sense to do that for a short period of time, again to let things cool off.
The thread makes sense to me, just getting meself confused a bit with 'Being a member' and 'Internet Friends'
@Honey Gee "I am completely at a loss with this thread. Have there been cuts.?" Stalking? I don't understand. Computer illiterate, a "troll" is an ogre who hides beneath a bridge, waiting to pounce on the unwary; stalking is a physical act being carried out. Frank
Ha ha - I think we know that Frank Besides the 'stalking comment' was made early in the thread by Yvonne, if I have the right thread
I ought to be more careful. My remark about the homeless is made without considering those, many of whom are Veterans, who suffer from a post-trauma mental condition, and get lumped in with the "homeless" numbers. But, other than the truly unfortunate and indigent who are not capable of "pulling up by their bootstraps", I still cling to the belief that any who state they are homeless "through no fault of their own", are those who feel a free-ride is owed them. Some think me harsh. Frank
