I suppose there was a time before we had the Aladdin teapot, a beautiful yellow one with gold trim, and one of the unique teapots made by Hall back in the early 1950's. Up on the top shelf of the cupboard where we kept the dishes, was an even older Sadler teapot which had belonged to my grandmother; but I don't remember ever actually drinking tea from that teapot, only from the Aladdin one.
My mother loved the Aladdin teapot, too, and in the evenings, she would make a pot of tea for the two of us (my dad must not have cared for tea, I don't remember ever seeing him drink any), and we would add a spoonful of honey, and sometimes a dab of lemon juice, and enjoy our cups of tea together.
Even though it was a very simple thing, it was a special time shared my my mother and myself, and something we both enjoyed together.
I always, always, think about that beautiful teapot every single time that I have a cup of hot tea, and in my memories, my mother is once again with me, enjoying our cup of tea together.
I think it was left at my son's house when we moved out here from Idaho; but I have been watching on eBay for another one, and this time, it will not be left behind.

I have been watching ebay for a while now, and looking at all of the Hall teapots, the Aladdin ones, and even some of the other ones. It seems like they made the most beautiful teapots back in those days, and some of the other ones were tempting, too.
I found one of the canary yellow Aladdin teapots that had the infuser and was $17+$8 shipping, and it also had the "best offer" tag. When it was close to ending, I offered her $10, which she countered with $13. I then offered $11.50 and she accepted that ; so I got my teapot, shipping and all , for under $20.
Ebay notified me that it has been shipped, so (unless the USPS snags it off to California) I should be enjoying my tea from the Aladdin teapot again soon.
    I am happy ! !
