It seems, that when one mystery is solved, another shows up. Mary has been asking and searching for a particular angel, that she can't locate. Now she has more than a few... Well, this morning, when I was putting up the 3 foot silver tree, there among the ornaments was a small tin angel that topped the tree last year. The missing angel was found, and placed in its place of honor above the kitchen sink. ...It wasn't long before another mystery showed up.... I opened up a small red box, and unwrapped a ...mouse building a snowman? Neither one of us can't recall ever seeing it before. I knew we had mice in the attic....but....???
LOL!! Love it It's been fun for me, even though I've been doing all of my decorating alone, I am truly blessed. I have a few things, first of all, didn't have to start from scratch, wonderful to have christmas music coming over my Roku, and every time my neighbors walk by, they love looking at my decorations I'm getting a couple more things today. I have such a collection of Angels that I never planned to collect, it just happened! They were all gifts to begin with, and then I started finding them. I'll show a pic of my latest, I think 50 cents at a thriftstore. It's so fun each year to dig out my goodies and start putting them around, and this was the first time for me, in about 3 years, that I had my very, own home to decorate
Phew ! Just put up me Christmas tree All 13 inches of it - looks nice on the mantel shelf Well I have to spread out the arms and add the baubles - phew !
Ohhhhhhhhhh, really a cutie @Patsy Faye Mine is just fiber optic, but I never thought about putting more ornaments on it but I sure could!! LOL!! I think I will, yeehaw!!
Those two angels are beautiful! There's nothing like being at home for Christmas! I am happy for you Denise!
We put up a smaller silver tree on top of the speaker, with our usual yard under it. I will try to post pictures tomorrow. Some of the ornaments are red plastic cookie cutters, that Mary quit using years back. She spent the afternoon addressing Christmas cards and I ran them to the post office. I saved one to send to you all, my friends at SOC!
This is a favorite record of our Daughter's. She will be coming from CO for a short visit before Christmas.
Here are a few pictures of Mary's silver tree, that we put up and she decorated. The yard is what we normally place under the big tree.
When our calico cat was with us, she loved out Christmas tree and loved to curl up under it's branches. In 2009, mary wrote a poem "Our Christmas Cat". Here is my version. By Joe: The Christmas Cat Our cat loves Christmas, And that is that. In fact we call her The Christmas cat. She lies and looks At the Christmas yard, She looks and stares, And stares so hard. When she was small, She loved to crawl. She crawled right Through the scene. Our cat’s an indoor cat, No longer out of doors, But this tree has no smell, And this bird never soars. Now she’s old and big, And just lies still Content to Sleep and dream. Dreams of birds and moles, And mice and cream. That’s what’s in Her sleepy dream. Big glass balls are hung so high, Like big glass moons up in the sky. The little girls on their sled, The fire engine painted red. Two ducks a floating On the pond, The red barn and farm That now is gone. Cherubs on high And wagons low She watched them all In the soft lights glow. The train is gone And in it’s place One engine of coal And one of glass. A little bird sits in her nest, Warming little eggs. She snuggly rests Her little head and legs. Two little mice Asleep so nice Inside their walnut shell And dream of cats asleep as well. Her hearings gone, And she’s half blind, But in this cold December, In dreams she can remember. Our cat just looks and stares And wonders why this tree is there. And to herself she seems to say “Enjoy it while it’s here”! P.S. Maybe it’s only the nearby heating register!
