Well I've still got a few minutes before it's afternoon over here...soo Good Morning to one and all! I slept until almost 9am this morning and it felt really good for a change. I'm normally such an early riser and the only problem with that is by the time 3pm comes in the afternoon I'm almost ready for for bedtime again. It's warm and breezy here again, doesn't feel like winter at all. I just finished making shrimp scampi and tossed some fresh salad fixings to go with it. It's a new day and almost a New Year....hope all of you relaxing today and just feeling the peace flowing in your lives now that all the hustle and bustle of the Holidays is done.
Good morning from a frosty Worcester it's -2c (28f) and there is a dusting of frost on all the cars, later the forecast is for another sunny day up to 8c (36f) I have to fill in my application for an Indian visa today, it's a very complicated online form but at least I can do everything online without a visit to the consulate. Apart from that my day is pretty free so not sure how it will unfold, ....... anyway have a great Tuesday....
Mornin'. Excuse my late start. I just kept falling back asleep. Then, I got in a heck of a squabble with my neighbors. The ones that live in my head. I had to threaten to evict them to get them to shut up. It was about breakfast. They wanted eggs and hash browns. Another wanted French toast with molasses. I wanted some of my daughter's home made potato soup. I won. It was yummy. Well, not much going on here yet. Maybe I can stir up something.
Yes. My daughter peels and boils the potato's first, drains away the water, then lightly mashes them, so there are small chunks of cooked potato. Mash 'em to suit your taste. Then she adds some milk, chopped onion, butter, and puts back on heat. Keep stirring and adding milk until soup is the consistency you want. Daughter also adds bits of ham. You can add chopped celery and carrot too, but they require more cooking time. Add salt and pepper to taste. I used to eat it with soda crackers crumbled in it. One day I had no crackers for my soup, so I added a bit of dry oatmeal, to thicken it up just a bit. It worked well enough, I don't buy crackers anymore.
No, it does work, that's why I keep it on hand. I use it as needed, though, not on an everyday basis. Maybe I need to step that up, though, and see what happens. I'm focused on the chest/head stuff right now. I wish the weather would cool off and stay level for a bit. All of this back and forth nonsense from 30s to 80s is ridiculous. There's been thick fog most days, and that doesn't seem to help, but I do love hearing the fog horns out on the water.
Good Morning and hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! It's still foggy and warm here. Too warm for my taste. I enjoy a bit of a chill in the winter. I didn't read all of the posts, there were just too many, but it sounds as if everyone had a nice day. That potato soup sounds yummy @Ike Willis. I haven't made any in a long time, but I might need to rectify that situation. There was a carjacking of a mail truck around the 20th of December up in North Houston, which is where the big station is that all of the mail coming here goes through. I didn't receive any Christmas cards from the family or my bestie, which is unusual, and I hope they weren't taken or ruined in that incident. I forgot to ask my Mom if she got mine, but I would think she'd have mentioned it if it hadn't arrived, especially after I told her about the carjacking. I wish the evil people in the world would all just melt away and leave the rest of us in peace. I'm looking forward to New Year's, and am thinking about making pizzelle (I usually make them around this time of year, for either Christmas or New Year's) and possibly crab rangoon, if I get out to pick up the ingredients. Hope everyone's having a nice holiday week!
@Ike Willis - Oh that sounds delish - will have to try, I love tatas Thanks a bunch @Diane Lane - so fed up with this weather too, I like to know where I am with it, it gets so warm in the afternoons
LOL, finish the nap you started hey, LOL! It's warmer here, yesterday 35, today 45, and rain I don't plan any "work" related movement either. Going to veg out, eat, play on the puter, read, eat, go check my mail, eat, lots of eating
Good Morning All, sort of shut in today, pouring rain, but cozy! Hope everyone's day is splend'tastic!
Good morning to all who are up and about ............. I woke at 5 am and it's -1c (30F) , but cosy and warm here in bed where I will stay for a while. I see my Indian e-visa arrived by e-mail at 2:00 am so that was very quick, so I can relax now and prepare for the holiday/vacation. There is a lot of tidying up to do around the house and a small leak on the central heating system here to sort out. Have a good day everyone.....
Mornin'. Nothing scheduled to happen weatherwise until Sunday evening. In other words, dry, warmish and blah. If it keeps on like this, I'm putting in for a refund on this so called winter. The people that live in my head are starting to worry about me. They're concerned because i'm starting to watch movies I normally would never, ever watch. The worrisome thing is, I'm liking some of them. The other night I watched a Ted Danson movie. Now, I could barely tolerate Ted in "Cheers", and he totally sucks in movies, IMO. But, I liked the movie "Dad", with Danson and Jack Lemon. Last night I watched a Robin Williams movie. I don't especially like him, but in a few movies he's ok. The movie last night was some kind of fantasy movie. Kind of sucky, but I had to see it through. My favorite Robin Williams movie is "One Hour Photo". I told the voices in my head to shut up about the occasional chick flick or whatever I watch. I still love the shoot-'em ups and always will. Speaking of shooting, there's so much new stuff coming out these days. My mouth waters at the sight of some of the guns and other gear. I've had an idea that could easily and cheaply be incorporated into the design of certain types of guns. It would make these guns a bit quicker to get into action when shooting at flying or running game. So far, no one seems interested. Should I win a multi million dollar lottery, I'll just have to go into the gun business, I guess. Well, I see my coffee mug has dried up again. Must be a leak in it somewhere. I gotta go fill it. Y'all behave now. Gonna go check my liberal traps after I gets my coffee.
