Good morning everyone. I'm still having computer problems. It's hit or miss if I can even get on the internet each day. It took several tries this morning but it's working for now.

@Ina I. Wonder - It took just over 3 years to get diagnosed when I was finally given an MRI
for the ears and back problem. Not much info given was to me about it though except they were unable
    to operate on me.
I guess the pins and needles stem from it, seeing as you have had the same
Pleased its not ongoing for you, its hard to cope with it .......................

Hi @Patsy Faye, I understand that things are different from country to country, so I'll not assume that the medical field is as our's is. Since I am pretty much alone when it comes to figuring out this kind of thing now that Michael is gone, I had to learn how to manage by myself. A couple of years ago, I found out I have the right to ask for a copy of my medical records. So now I just ask for a disk copy of the MRI and a written print of the results.

Then if I have questions, I ask the doctor to explain what I do not understand. I even insisted that I be shown the MRI disk, so I could get a visual understanding of what is happening to me.

I think what I describe as electrical shocks, and what you are calling pins and needles, just might be the same thing. Mine started off as a tingling sensation that slowly grew into sharper and heavier sensations like an electric shock that you might recieve if you touch something that's not grounded. Now I am prescribed a medication that affects the nerve endings, and the dosage is adjusted to the degree of pain I am in at the time.

If your condition is anything like mine, it will not go away, and there is the chance it will get worse if the Rheumatoid Arthritis in your spine advances.

If you can, try to get a copy of your records so that you can go over them yourself. Having the internet is very useful on helping you to understand what is happening to you. If your doctor tells you no, then go to where you recieved the tests. Here the the place of testing has to keep your records for a period of time, and I have the right to ask for them, even over my doctor's request. I remember having to sign a waver at the testing facility so they could send the test results to my doctor.

I understand that you are still working, so it is even more important that you get a handle on your condition. This condition is a degenerative disease, but it can be handled so that you can go about your life without every step causing so much pain that you just want to curl into a ball of misery.

Now, I can move easier and my doctor gets less money.

It would be impossible for me to work Ina.
Yes its degenerative and the past year has been the 'worst'
I also have vertigo, so movement is restricted anyway
I did get my records years ago, just didn't understand, the doc even drew a diagram for me as my condition
affects the ribs which I didn't understand either
I have purchased Alpha Lipoic Acid - I will be taking these as the weather heats up
Thanks for your concern me darlin' - you have so much to cope with yourself and I pray it gets easier for you xx

It's going to be a very nice Sunday over here weatherwise and after a few nights in the 40's I am ready for winter to go away for good. I hope those few nights will be the end of this and Spring will come in all its spendor. I love seeing all the flowers in bloom when I'm out and about now and I'm ready to start growing our veggies too.

I'm making chicken and sausage gumbo today and sharing it with my middle daughter and her family as there will be way to much for my Honey and me. Even though I have learned to cook smaller amounts of most things for us, some things like gumbo and soup, etc. I just have to make big pots of...so there is always plenty to share with others.

This week I am thankful that I was able to get some exercise in every day and I can already tell that this is making a different for each day I notice I have a little more stamina than the day before. I also have been drinking green tea with honey every morning, but yesterday I decided to let myself have a cup of coffee just for that morning...big mistake! It did not sit well in my stomach and I experienced heartburn most of the day whereas I hadn't been having any heartburn with the green tea and honey. I have been off of my Prilosec for over a week now too and doing just fine without this acid reducer that I have been on for years and years! I think the coconut oil has had something to do with me getting off this too. I keep my dose of coconut oil at a teaspoon and find that this works well for me. I am very pleased that I feel more energetic and alert since starting coconut oil and along with the other healthful changes I am making, my body is feeling much better.

It's a good day to give thanks for all the blessings in our lives. Have a great Sunday!

A very good Sunday morning to you all, I am waking up as usual with coffee, it's a grey wet cold day out, after a spring like day yesterday full of April showers.
I am preparing the dining part of the room for laying the new floor starting tomorrow, the room by the way is 27 feet by 11 feet, I have more or less divided it in half creating two cozy areas when finished....

    Have a great day!!

@Patsy Faye , weird, I too have vertigo. Mine is not too bad. I tend to have a tendency to walk at an angle instead of in a straight line, but I've been able to adapt and at least it doesn't hurt.

@Babs Hunt, You sound like me. Since I was young I have cooked for a large family, up to 12 on the average, then down to me. It's just to hard to cook for one. I had pretty much quit cooking until Bobert came to live with me. Actually he cooks more than I do now, and he will fixes me a BLT when he thinks I'm not eating enough. But every other week, I will fix a pot roast or a baked Chicken with all the goodies for Bobert and his parents who try to visit as much as possible. I found that I don't like living alone, and I so thank my Creator for guiding Bobert to me. It gives me a reason to get up in the morning. :)

I've been taking coconut oil too, for about the last couple of weeks, and I do think I'm feeling a bit better. I've also been eating more avocados, and taking whey protein. My big sister, @Yvonne Smith, will get onto me if I don't at least try to do as I should.

Well @Terry Page I can't wait to see your finished efforts at decorating. What brought you to such efforts? Are you in an individual residents, or an apartment. I thought you were in an apartment, but most apartments here are rented, and your not allowed to renovate them. o_O

@Ina I. Wonder - pleased to hear the vertigo is manageable for you :)
Mine is due to a birth defect and I have to be very careful not to aggravate it

Happy day everyone. At least I'm hoping it is for most of us. I felt so good last week and then for some reason I started feeling like I was coming down with something this weekend and I'm still not sure if it was a weather change thing....or what. This morning I feel like a mac truck ran over me but I was determined to make my chicken and sausage gumbo that I promised my middle daughter I would share with her and her family for supper. That's just about done now and I'm resting on the couch while it simmers and finishes cooking.

Hope those that were or are sick...are feeling better today. Spring is definitely in the air and I'm looking forward to beach time with family and grandchildren in the months ahead. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing...have a very blessed day! :)
