I wonder why parents set their young children up with an email address? Two of my granddaughters have already done this for their children. One for my 8 year old great grandson and one for my 7 year old great granddaughter. They told me it was a good learning tool for their kids.

Soooo, of course I had to contribute to this learning experience. Yesterday, I thought I would teach them how we went about playing pranks on April Fools day. I explained to both of these great grandchildren how we as children would save whatever ideas we came up with all year long, just so we could play pranks on this special day.

Samuel, (the 8 year old), asked me why this day of pranks was so special. I explained that as long as no one was hurt pretty much all gags were forgiven. He then asked me for some examples. So I went online and found three great examples, I thought.

Turns out his daddy didn't get to celebrate April Fools day, and he was not very forgiving of his son's first effort at playing a funny on him. Oooops big time!!!

Here are the examples I sent Samuel. He chose number three.

You'd be in trouble at my house to @Ina I. Wonder...especially if I grabbed one of those tooth paste filled Oreos! :p

I thought Samuel's parents would have asked him why the oreo's were in the refrigerator. (It was so the toothpaste would set up, and not be so squishy.) In my defense I did suggest the pants on the toity. :D :p

What were some of the pranks you played as a child, or as a big kid? o_O

I just deleted that toothpaste filled Oreo gag from the good morning thread because @Martin Alonzo called me "sick" and that it would poison someone.

I didn't even do the prank, just posted some pics that where from a funny April fools pranks site.

I think Samuel got into so much trouble because he asked his daddy why he was snitching his cookies in the middle of the night.

Samuel's mommy said she wished she had thought of it herself. She has been trying to get my grand-son-in-law to stop his midnight raids on the kids sweets for some time now. Now that she knows about this prank, she thinks it might help her hubby stay on his diet. He needs to loose about 30 pounds. :(

I love pranks long as they don't hurt anyone or poison them.

I pretty sure one bite didn't make him ill. After all, it was his toothpaste! :p

I've loved this day all my life, and I was really good at doing funny pranks, and I'm pretty sure I never hurt anyone. I had a quirky funny bone. What can I say. I pulled pranks one my brother, my kids, grandkids, and now its time I passed the torch on. :)

Hmmmm, Bobert's in his room play video games. Well why not??? :D

  9. I never did much, because my brothers did it all first- like emptying my mother's cigarettes and filling them with pepper. :p

The only biggie I ever did was replace the sugar container with salt... sister-in-law made pies, and she was mad!! :p:p:p

On another forum that I ran once, I banned everyone on April 1. About a fourth of them never came back, and some of those who did were still angry. When I worked for the Open Directory Project, on April 1st the site had a red button in the corner, with a warning against pressing the big red button. About five thousand editors were locked out for twenty-four hours.

When I ran a computer BBS, which preceded public access to the Internet, I installed a program that activated on April 1 that would pull all of the personal information from someone's account, and display it in a forum thread, so that everyone thought that their personal information (phone number, address, etc.) had been posted for everyone to see. In reality, the display was individual for each BBS member. One member saw his own information, while another saw their own information, but no one saw anyone else's information. I lost a few paying members that day. Since computers themselves were fairly new to most people, some of them couldn't even understand it when I explained it to them, insisting that no, they saw it in the public thread.
