Good morning everyone, on this cloudy autumn day. It's 6:30am at 30 degrees so far, here in the little city in the notch. Some of you are probably getting ready for church services, some are still in bed and some are sipping coffee and scanning the 'net, like me.

Had a bad night last night. Was up nearly every hour. I hate when that happens.
So, enjoy the Sunday, Monday is only hours away.:D

Ugh, I had that same kind of night, Ike. Tomorrow's a new day, hopefully we'll both sleep better tonight.

It's sunny and hot now, although it was cool earlier. I actually had the windows open for the kitties earlier, and to air the place out. It won't be long before I can do that more often, and I can't wait. I haven't done much today. I've started several things, but nothing seems to be working out, so I might just watch some TV after I talk to my Mom. That's probably the safest thing, since I'm really clumsy today. Hope everyone's having a nice relaxing day!

Good morning, all! The frost was on the roses, this morning. They have been blooming a lot, and have done their job well! All good things have an end, and they deserve a rest. They were not "perfect" roses, but there were many blooms, and we got a lot of enjoyment out of them! Life marches on! I hope you all had a better night's sleep! We still have sunny days ahead, and thanks, Lara, for the Doris Day number! ;)

Funny, but when I googled "Frost on the roses" ...this is what I got!:)

    The rose is a rose,
    And was always a rose.
    But the theory now goes
    That the apple's a rose,
And the pear is, and so's
    The plum, I suppose.
    The dear only knows
What will next prove a rose.
You, of course, are a rose -
    But were always a rose.

Clear sky and the sizzling 60's here in river city at 10am. Gotta wait around for the TV man to come. Something wrong with my modem. So, I'll be stuck here inside all day, no doubt. I hate waiting around.

We have a call box in the lobby and have to buzz in visitors. Most times, people will call me when I'm away from the phone. It takes me awhile to get to the phone because I have to use a walker. Most hang up and leave just before I get there. Even people that know me do that. I just want to punch 'em in the head.

Greetings on this warm Tuesday morning from beautiful downtown notch city. It's a very warm morning with the mercury at 59 degrees at the 4am hour. Chance of rain today, but that's ok. Yesterday was warm and very windy, so the whole area here was under a burn ban. No outdoor fires or burning of field waste allowed.

Well, my world is back to normal now. TV works again, I woke up feeling reasonably good this morning. I see a trip to the store in my schedule. Ate my last can of beans last night. No food left in the house. So later, around 9am, I'll mount up and take a leisurely ride through the downtown and to the store. The photo shows just one block of the downtown.

That's all I got, so far. Stay safe people, and keep lookin; behind ya. Someone may be sneakin' up on ya.:D

I got another load of compost yesterday. It's still in the truck. I have to dig the sweet 'taters and cut the asparagus ferns before I can fill those beds.
I helped my wife plant her tulips too. She did most of the work but I did a good job of watching.
Today I'm going to get a haircut, renew my drivers license and go to the grocery.

Good Morning, hope all is well with everyone. We woke up to a very cold morning yesterday which was very unusual for this area, I am very happy to say it is not so cold this morning and I am going to go for a very long walk to clear my head and give thanks for all the beauty in the world. Have a great day everyone.

Holy Moly, it's almost 8am already. Woke up at 3:30am and was about to get up, but fell back asleep until 7am. Got lots to do in the next 8 days. Gotta get my apartment ready for inspection. Also have to fill out a few pages of paper work. When you live in a HUD building, you go through this every year.

We had a pretty noisy night last evening. Thunderboomies ended our long, dry stretch. Don't know how much rain we got. The weather channel wasn't on this morning. Maybe got washed away.:D

Well, I better get busy. Behave, or be careful, one.

Good Morning, Everyone! I think the rain might skip us today which I'm happy about, since I have to run out again. After that trip it can rain for the rest of the week and I won't care, as long as it's nothing too severe. The news is talking about flash flooding as usual, and I am a little concerned because the water has been very high for days here. When I was down taking the sunrise pictures the other day, the waves actually slapped up through the dock and got my feet and legs wet, which is very unusual. I have to drive over the gully bridge later, so I'll be better able to determine whether I should be concerned once I see how high the water is at that point. Hope everyone's having a great week!

    Hahaha @Lara, I love it!

Growing up, we never said things like Good Morning to one another in my household. When I was with my ex-fiance, I would stay with his mom a lot, because at one point he had to move down there so he would qualify for a certain job. I loved staying with her, and we're still very close to this day. She would make my room up special, and when I wasn't there, no one else could stay in it. Every day I was there, she would cut a rose from her garden and put it in my room. She didn't drink coffee, but would make me a pot every day, so the smell would wake me up. When I went out to the kitchen to get my coffee, she would be all happy because she was/is a morning person, and she'd always say Good Morning very cheerily. Experiencing that had a profound effect on me, which is why I created this thread. Waking up like that makes a big difference to me, and I've noticed on the days when I am able to go on my walks, saying Good Morning to people I pass and smiling at them improves my day. It doesn't matter so much how they respond, although it is better of course when they respond similarly. As we get older many of us end up living alone, but it's important to have interactions with other people, even if they're just virtual ones. So, Good Morning, Y'all!

This has turned into the most happy, happy day for me ! !
My daughter, Robin (finally, finally) is back home again. She was sent to Afghanistan in early March of this year, and was supposed to be back home by the end of that month.
Then, her relief worker did not show up when they were supposed to; so they kept Robin over there. Even though they were still wanting here there; her main boss here finally put his foot down and said that they had 2 weeks to get her on her way back home on a plane.
So, to my surprise, she showed up in our driveway this morning ! She just got back home today, and I am sure she has jet lag; so we just visited for a while, then she headed back home for a hot shower, and a long sleep in her own bed.

I can't begin to express how happy I am to see her again, and have her back home where she is safer. Everytime I read about one of those suicide bombers, or any kind of attack in Kabul; I have been in a panic. Robin finally started posting a picture on Facebook whenever they had an attack that happened; so I would have "proof of life", as she called it.
