Good morning....horrid night! Tossed and turned forever ...was too hot. After I did doze off one of my smoke alarms started beeping low battery...so half asleep I had to get the ladder and change it..which isn't easy even when you're awake. I probably should have turned the A/C on and will tonight but have to put the deflector( not what it's called) on the vent because it's right over my head all the cold air blows on me...this way the airflow gets changed. What a nightmare! I didn't eat a kiwi yesterday, maybe that's the problem. Today will be even hotter, it's 5:00 AM and I'm hot already.
We had a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon that just roared through this area, blowing down down tree limbs and whole trees in some places. We were out of power for about 12 hours, since it didn't come back on until early this morning about 4 AM. Robin came over yesterday with an extra twin bed that she had for company, and we took that over for Evelyn to use. We barely had the bed unloaded when the storm hit, and it was good that we got there when we did. It should be a little cooler today, and maybe more rain.
Good morning to you all, it's 8:00 am and we are back in the city, the sky is clear blue, but it's cool at 10c. They have turned the municipal heating off while we were away, so we hope the weather doesn't dip to winter levels again Lisa has lots of reviews to write and other university stuff, but all I have to do is plan another vacation or short break Have a great Monday......... Breakfast at the Dacha...
How wonderful it is to wake up in my own bed this morning next to my Honey. I love going to the beach and I enjoyed every minute of the time with my Family...but there's no place like home and a fresh brewed mug of coffee with mocha almond fudge creamer added to it. Waking up to these views from our balcony every morning was a beautiful way to start my mornings too. We timed our vacation at the beach perfectly as the rain started coming in the night before we started home yesteday and from what my brother-in-law said the rain will continue all week now. We got showers driving back home yesterday too and the weatherman this morning is telling me we have a 70% chance of rain here in Lafayette today too. I am going to be making turkey and sausage gumbo today with the leftovers from the turkey I cooked in Florida...it's yummy and will put a big smile on my Honey's face when he walks in the door from work and his mouth starts watering at the wonderful aroma of the gumbo. May your day be blessed with peace and some mouth watering delicious food today.
Good morning! It all sounds wonderful @Babs Hunt! 101 today and I just made a bad move and my back almost spasmed...I caught it and eased out of it but it feels spasmy...if my back spasms...I can't make the trip for my grandson's graduation....I'm so worried now...I might call the dr for some muscle relaxants...just in case. Not good since I have a lot to do today! Hope everyone's day is better than mine.
Those gels you can get are good for your problem Chrissy - hope you have some in the house Everyone Xx - I love puffins
I have gels and heat pads and everything but when my back spasms I can't move for a week...it hasn't spasmed in years though.
Good Morning @Chrissy Cross. If calling your Doctor and getting some muscle relaxers in case your back spasms is going to stop your worry and anxiety then I think you should call and get you some. I'll say a prayer for you too because I definitely want you to enjoy your grandson's graduation and that wonderful time with your family. May you also have safe comings and goings and make lots of cherished memories to store in your heart forever.
That is how my back is, too, @Chrissy Cross , and mine does better now that I am older, it seems like. Or maybe I have just learned to be more careful than I used to do. It is a terrifying thing to have happen, especially when you live alone. I well remember the first time it happened to me, and I had to crawl around the house for a week because the spasms hurt to much to stand up and walk. Take care of yourself ! If you have one of those back braces, those seem to help me, too, and keep my back warmer. One thing that I have noticed that seems to make a difference with me, is keeping my back (around the waist area) covered at night. When it is cold, I usually don't have a problem with that; but when the weather is hot, I will throw the blanket off and then the center of my back gets a chill, and makes it more apt to seize up.
Thanks @Babs Hunt and @Yvonne Smith , yep sounds just like mine and it is hard when you're alone. I never had them til I was in my late 50's and it happened when my ex and I had a trip planned for Tahoe...had to cancel. Then I had a few in that time period, I learned to be careful and didn't have one until I flew to Illinois to help my daughter in law when she had my last grandson. They had to take care of me and a baby. Think I've only had one since then but it was a doozy ...I was almost better and went to pick something up and it spasmed again...that was almost two weeks of torture. I am usually covered even with a sheet at night... I had a prescription for the muscle relaxant but didn't need it so I threw them out because they were so old. If I have to go in for a visit to get them...forget it. Just like you, Yvonne I can't straighten up with my spasms...the way I got around was leaning over a desk chair with wheels and that's how I'd move to the bathroom.
