Started with a note from the mail man, stating I can't have me package until I pay £13.46 !! I rang them and they told me the shop - from America, hadn't paid the VAT needed. I said, well I don't want the bloomin package then - send it back Then, I had to inform the shop in America, not heard from them yet ............... Then - I went to a shop this morning (took a chance) that my order would be there ready. It was not - got home and there's an Email stating me order is ready to collect at the shop !! Then - this afternoon, an Email from Amazon, stating that a parcel had been handed to a neighbour even though I'm sitting here waiting After a good while I phones the neighbour, have you got a parcel for me, oh yes, says he, now what have I done with it After a long search we found it !! Bloomin eck !
Well my back is easing up a little...if it spasms then yes, my day will be worse...what a contest, eh?
Well I made it to the store and back, also got gas...that was a shock..$3.40 for regular here! Worst part besides the gas price was getting in and out of my car and reaching for my seat belt. Now I'm doing some laundry...I should be ok..hopefully
It sounds like this has just not been a good day for you, @Patsy Faye , especially where packages are concerned ! Hopefully, you can get everything worked out. Maybe next time you order from Amazon , ask them to leave it someplace else besides at the neighbor's house. We always just put "leave on porch if no one is home", and that works for us; but might not work for you in an apartment. You just need to come out here for your gasoline, @Chrissy Cross . It is only about $2.05 per gallon out here for regular.
@Yvonne Smith - I've Emailed Amazon, asking not to leave with a neighbour when 'I'm here' There are a few here that could quite easily put it in the bin ! Or like what happened, 'don't know what I've done with it' Panic stations !
When I order from Amazon, somewhere down near the bottom of the order is a place that says "special instructions" or something similar to that. If you put the information where to leave it in that section, it should then be right on the package for the mailman to see.
I didn't even know you could do that but I order so little...only presents I have sent to the little grandson in Illinois.
I think you are right, @Patsy Faye , and there is only room for a few words. I think I just say "leave on porch" and it doesn't matter whether we are home or not. Most things come in the mail anyway, and they just put it in the mailbox when it fits and on the porch when it doesn't. Maybe you need to contact your mail carrier or the post office and tell them where to leave the packages, since they are the ones who actually deliver it to you. We do get some from UPS or FedEx; but they just leave it on the porch, too.
I would, if I had a porch - they have to press buttons to gain entry at main door, if they meet someone along the way, they hand the parcel to them Not right. I informed Amazon and the response was good, so hopefully they will deliver to 'me'
