Last night I dreamed I was helping my neighbor and friend do some plumbing work on the outside of a building in our town. It became evening and we weren't yet finished. My friend said we'll finish tomorrow morning, be here at 7am. I repeated 7am, ok, and walked home.

On awakening this Wednesday morning, I looked at the clock. Yes, it was 7am. Coincidence? Or was I visited by my neighbor and friend in my sleep? I should add, my friend died about a year ago.
If you check, you'll find that I made posts between 4 and 5am. I went back to sleep shortly after.

That's when my friend visited me in my dream.

It is strange how we can dream about people who are alive and also those who have passed away, and they are just as real to us as if they were still alive.
I often dream about my mom and dad, and even other friends and relatives who are no longer alive. Sometimes, there is a realization , even in the dream, that they are gone, and then I wonder why they are there. Other times, it seems completely natural, which is how your dream must have seemed to you @Ike Willis.
Often, we seem to have a subconcious alarm clock that wakes us up, and I think that yours got "set" when you were dreaming, and since the dream was real to you when you dreamed it, your subconscious woke you up at the proper time.

That sounds plausable...my subconscious is always reaching over to hit the snooze button!;)

I believe we have an internal clock that we can tell what time to wake us up. I do not use an alarm clock, I tell myself out loud what time I have to get up if I need to get up earlier than usual and it works.

@Ike Willis you may have had a message from another realm- perhaps you were being told to contact the other fellow. A pipeline normally would be a symbol of a supply line or a line of communication. It can also mean a method or means to achieve the movement of something. What was the building in town used for? That could be a clue as to what it is that you are trying to get a pipeline too. It seems right now you are working on it but it is taking forever. 7am is significant, it could mean you might hear of something in the morning or maybe a week (7 days) I see by the post date some time has passed, did you get news about this person? 7 is usually thought of as a lucky number. It sounds like something was in the process of coming your way,

The guy has been dead about a year and I haven't seen or heard anything from or about the family.

Ah, yes. Music from my wild and crazy teens. I have the oldies channel on TV right now. No commercials, just music from the 1950's mostly.

My neighbor was my friend, one guy. He was sort of the neighborhood peacemaker. If someone got too far out of line, he'd give 'em a good butt kicking. Someone slashed 2 of my tires one night. He put my spare on for me and bought me a new tire because I didn't have the money then. I paid him back on payday. He had a tractor with a snowplow and cleared driveways in the neighborhood, no charge. He ran one meth maker out of the neighborhood. Every neighborhood should have one like him.

:oops:Dreams are good to have, yet like you say the wake button wakes you up when the time is right to wake up in our world. I like dreaming if the dream is a good one. Sometimes I dream of being chased and when I awaken I feel exhausted! I usually dream of nice things, so dreams are good when I dream them.

Thank God I got out of there alive. I was being chased, and took shelter in an abandoned building. It was dark inside and I soon became lost in the dark maze of corridors. Then it became pitch dark and cold. So cold I thought I would soon freeze to death.
Then, I opened my eyes and discovered my blanket had fallen off the bed and onto the floor.:D
