Starting my day listening to Tennessee Ernie Ford gospel songs...something I rarley do but in the mood today for some comfy music. Happy Fathers Day to all hope you enjoy your day!
A late good morning to you all, we are in Lappeeranta Finland, and the weather is warm and sunny. Lisa is looking around the shops and I have researched a Nepalese restaurant for lunch. We are only here for 4 hours because the only reason to come is to get Lisa's European visa stamped. I hope you are all having a good Monday.......
I woke up this morning so excited that in a couple of days (on Wednesday) I will be leaving for another trip to the beach and to spend time with my sisters in Florida. There will be a big difference in this trip though, as I will be the driver instead of the passenger as I usually am. And it will be the first time I have taken our new car on a trip. This will be my last post for a few days as I pack the things I need and do the things I need to do around our home to make sure my Honey has food and a tidy home when I take off. Have a blessed week everyone.
At least you don't live in Phoenix, AZ or Las Vegas, NV where there is an "excessive heat" warning in affect. Bad enough in Fresno, right? I remember, when I first met my wife, she was making mental plans on moving to Laughlin, NV.. When she talked to me about it, I ask her "do you really know how hot it can get in Laughlin in the summer?". Don't think she did. I was there once in the summer and in the parking lot of a casino it was 115 degrees. She agreed with me that central Colorado would be a much better move.........even with the snow they get there.
I am really not very happy right now. Turning on the TV this morning the weather channel informs me that their is a tropical depression in the Gulf and for the rest of the week and into next we have high rain forecast every day. Then I went online and looked up Pensacola's rain forecast and basically it is the same as ours. I can't drive in the rain with the cataracts I am developing and I sure don't want to spend most of the days indoors because of the rain in Florida either. So now I am chatting with my sisters on FB's private message to see what they think and to probably reschedule our trip.
@Babs Hunt ...so sorry...but better to be safe now so u can go later ...everything happens for a reason.
I definitely believe everything happens for a reason. but I am a little disappointed all the same. Now I'm just praying that neither we here in Louisiana get anymore flooding and no more flooding for all the coastal states that will be affected by this tropical storm or depression.
I have been reading about this incoming storm, too, @Babs Hunt, and it does sound like it could turn nasty. I know you were looking forward to the beach trip; but it seems like this is not the week to try doing this. The weather map looks like it could hit a lot of the coastal parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, depending on how destructive it gets, and where the storm comes ashore at. We are having much cooler weather here today, and had thunderstorms coming in overnight. I do not envy you with your 100+ heat, @Chrissy Cross , and I am sure that we will be back to hot and humid soon, too. We are far enough north not to have to be concerned about the hurricane (should it develop); but we will probably get more stormy weather when it comes ashore.
