Cute but too many geese scare me. We have Woodward park close to my house and there's a pond with hundreds of ducks and geese on them. You can't even walk because you'll step in poop and they are very aggressive. Used to take the grandsons there to feed the geese but it was getting scary.
This park had so many that you can't even walk, they're everywhere and all you had to do was have a piece of bread in your hand and there would be 20 on you. At that time my grandson was about the same size as a goose so you can imagine his terror.
@Chrissy Cross I can imagine ! Very much like seagulls here, they are a menace ! (from one who loves birds) but like people - not all the same
Before we raised chickens, we raised geese and ducks, mainly because we have a small lake, (or maybe it's a very large pond depending on who's judging it). Someone stole our geese and ducks over a weekend we were out of town. We sold the geese to the city's parks and wild life department for the inner city parks. The ducks sold as well, and you'd be surprised at how many people liked eating duck eggs. One duck egg is close to two or three chicken eggs, and their yokes are so rich. People would pay $7.50 to $10.00 for a dozen duck eggs, depending on the season. Around here eggs are going for $3.00 to $5.00 at this time. "There's gold in them thar eggs."
