    Good morning friends,.........

I woke early after a reasonable nights sleep, and I am going to visit my French friend Laurence (female) today, we haven't had a get-together for some time, and I know she is finding life difficult at the moment, since her GP husband has been diagnosed as Clinically Depressed, which isn't that rare among a lot of our overstressed doctors.

I hope you all have as a good a Tuesday as possible.......

I feel like eggs for breakfast but which way ...... [IMG]

    Good morning to you all,

I am a bit slow getting going this morning, I had a good day with Laurence yesterday, but after spending 8 hours walking and talking about emotional issues, we were both exhausted so I guess today I am in recovery.

It's a long story but briefly L's husband a GP has been diagnosed clinically depressed and it turns out that, though we suspected it for a long time, that he is an alcoholic.
He recently crashed his car after drinking, went home carried on drinking and eventually the police traced him and came arrested him, the result being he has lost his driving licence, has been forced into early retirement by the BMA so can no longer practice as a doctor. He also had two massive heat attacks over the last 3 months and had stents fitted a month ago. He is only 56 so he is young for all this to have happened to his life [IMG]

In addition to this trauma L's youngest son (18) is having major surgery on his right leg after a sports injury some years ago has worsened, this has entailed inserting metal which has become infected, resulting in him needing to have 6 months of strong antibiotics and painkilling meds, before they can remove the infected metal.

L has retired from her teaching job at the moment to cope with all this, plus their house is up for sale, so you can imagine what a stressful household it is...............

We did had a lovely lunch outdoors at a local country pub, so there was some light relief [IMG]

I am taking my car in to have the AC checked which isn't working properly, though AC is not essential here for cooling, I have got used to it for demisting the car on humid days.

I will have some more coffee and read some more on here......

It is a sad life story, Terry.
I hope things will improve for them.
    Blessings.

@Terry Page you are a good friend. I know it can be tedious at times to just sit and listen, but you just might of be the only ear Laurence felt comfortable saying exactly what was causing her and her family so much pain. Sometimes it is hard for people to tell those that are close to them what is happening within themselves. Now maybe she can take a deep breath, and push forward with what she needs to do for her family.

It makes you wonder if the doctor had unloaded some of his inner pain, could he have made a difference in his own health.

I know that over here we tend to put our doctors up on a pedestal. That was one reason I was so shocked that my own doctor actually came to my house for a non-related medical reason.

So I give you more respect than what I already think you deserve for pushing forward in your life when many of us just give up. Push on my friend ... :)

    Morning Folks

great pictures Terry.. I wish life was still as Idylic as that...

Cars are the bane of our lives but we can barely be without them. I've only had my car returned after lending it for the last 3 days..now I have to book mine in because some belt is slipping ..and I've got a rear light out..and my AC needs re-gassed too..

17 degrees here which is a huge difference from the 34 degrees they had here last week...and the 46 degrees we had in Spain... so today for the first time in weeks I've got a sweater on..

Another photo from my trip to Spain...

Our favourite restaurant table on the beach...

Hi @Holly Saunders , It looks like a cozy place to have bite, or maybe some coffee to sip on for a while. It's been a long time since I could sit outside and people watch. Now when I say people watch, others automatically think I mean the malls.

Show us some more, please. :) :p :D

here's a few more of the view from where we were sitting @Ina I. Wonder ..

We visited many beach restaurants in different beaches but this one is our favourite...

This beach is at San pedro.... and this is the front entrance... to the chiringuito (beach bar for anyone who doesn't know what that word means)...

We had Oysters, Prawns ..all freshly caught that day... and I had lamb chops as well.....( don't know what part of the sea they came from tho')...:D

San pedro beach also has a lot of palm trees growing actually on the beach as well as on the promenade.... and among the trees on the beach just to make it more jungle Island looking we have these fellas...dotted along one part of the beach...

They are life size but they're not real, but it just gives the beach a different look to most other beaches...

...and just for the guys...here's one of the another part of San pedro beach...

The beaches look like what we have in Galveston, Texas, and believe it or not, the front of your chiringuito could be mistaken for a few bars not only in Galveston, but in Houston as well. I don't eat oysters, but I've gone oystering for 2/3's of my life, and I can make a mean oyster stew.

Now couldn't cha have left me with my silly ignorant dream concerning the, as my great-granddaughter says, "Epalant"?
