How exciting for her @Lara Moss! Is this the daughter that had that healthy cooking segment on TV? If so, she's so talented and pretty...she'll do well in whatever she attempts. I'm sure you'll miss her though. Denver may be far but not as far as Europe.
Good morning friends it's another summery day here, but sadly Lisa's suitcase is still missing so she is very worried and not sleeping We only have two days now before we leave for Peru on Wednesday. I must say the system for tracing lost luggage in the UK or at least London is extremely poor, with no working contact numbers and the online system not working properly. Hopefully it will turn up soon and we can relax. I wish you all a good week ........
Wife is off today......YES! Was at breakfast this AM at Hardee's. A lady, her son and daughter were there from Missoula, Montana. Come to find out, she is from here and met her husband here. He was in the Navy at the time. His family is in Missoula and when there son was 4 years old, they decided to move to Missoula. She said it took her some time to get use to living in Montana, but has adjusted very well. The mother was sort of shocked that total strangers would talk to them. She doesn't miss Florida at all, but will come here to visit her parents. Took some things over to our boat and started it up and ran to operating temperature. Was going to take it out, but decided, after listen to local news last night, not to. Too many boaters on the river for us. Will go out next weekend, when the tide time is much better. Tonight, we will go to Golden Corral Buffet for dinner, but not go anywhere tomorrow evening (the 4th).
Yes, it's my daughter, Julie, with the cooking show but wasn't making as much money as she is making in Majorca with photo journalism. I was eating this cold popsicle today with a riddle written on the stick. When you finish eating the popsicle then the answer appears. The riddle was "How do you make a handkerchief dance?". The answer finally appeared while I almost finished eating the popsicle and the answer read..."You have to put a little Boogie in it."... Ewww . No way did I want to eat the rest of the popsicle, or maybe never eat popsicles again!
A very good morning to all you American friends on your special day, however you celebrate it have a good one,,,,,, A Card for you HERE
It is a dreary and rainy morning here, and rain for the rest of the week (again). The poor tomatoes are already getting that tall skinny look that they got last summer. This yard does not get much sun in the best of conditions, and when we have rain and clouds all day, then they barely get any sunshine. And neither do we ! Bobby got the swimming pool all set up and filled , and then we had a few days of heat and sunshine, and then the rain just moved in, permanently, it seems. Hopefully Lisa's luggage has arrived by now, @Terry Page , so she will have it for your next big adventure in Peru. When I went to Idaho with Robin last month, they had electronic tracking for luggage, and we could see right on the Delta app that our luggage was on board the plane. I think that this is a great idea and probably stops a lot of luggage from getting lost.
Due to all the rain we've got the last few months, my wife's hand surgeon told us that his garden really looks crappy. He said "so much for a nice garden this year."
Two nights out of the year wife and I really dread..........New Year's Eve and 4th of July. Why? Fireworks and guns being fired into the air. It would be fine if it were just for a while, but we've heard them go off as late as 2AM. Try to get to sleep around 10:30PM, so we can get up the next morning (day after the 4th), so wife can get ready for work, and BANG or BOOM, a firework or gun goes off. Actually, a family here was evicted a few years ago, because the manager found out the father had shot off a shotgun into the air on New Year's Eve. To this day, I'll never understand why someone would shoot off a gun on either the 4th or New Year's Eve in a city area. Sometimes I think it's a combo of alcohol and guns.
You are so right @Cody Fousnaugh , Over the last few years, we have somewhat lost our rural standing, but not totally. The fireworks began last night around 8:00 o'clock, and I know it will continue all week and throughout this coming weekend. It was bang bang until the wee hours of the night. So I doubt I'll be getting much sleep until after the 9th. PS: @Terry Page, I know you and Lisa are about to start your Peru adventure, so stay safe, drink lots of bottled water, and keep your cameras and phones charged. But most of all, enjoy yourselves.
Thanks @Ina I. Wonder we will and take lots of photos no doubt....... Good morning to you all, I slept well after a large bottle of Leffe dark beer that Katya kindly bought me, .....the good news is that after I made a couple more phone calls and an email, the courier finally delivered Lisa's suitcase at 10pm last night,..... talk about last minute yes there were some meds in the suitcase, but not essentials, I did use this as an excuse to put more pressure on the airline though Lisa did love her shopping spree at the airlines expense though, so its not all bad, she has some lovely jeans, new underwear and tops. We are flying at 2pm and it's from Gatwick airport a 50 mile drive from here, we are parking in the garden of a woman who lives close to the airport, which we have done several times before, it is safe and cheap. I will away now and finish a final pack now and catch up with you in Lima I guess, have a great day
