Saw a teaser article asking 'what was the popular movie the year you were born'. I didn't click on the link, went straight to the 24th Academy Awards for 1952. Nominees for Best Picture were: An American in Paris Decision Before Dawn A Place in the Sun Quo Vadis A Streetcar Named Desire All very good movies and I agree on the award going to 'An American in Paris'. But, I like 'The African Queen' much more than the winner. I watch it everytime it comes on. The interplay between Bogie and Kate is a thing to behold. I might add that my favorite actor won the 'Best Actor' award for 'The African Queen', Humphey Bogart. Vivien Leigh beat out Katharine Hepburn for 'Best Actress'.
