Okay, it's 3 a.m. and I can't sleep. Having a glass (or 3) of merlot, listing to Dave Brubeck/Diana Krall/etc. Remember an old flame I haven't seen in, oh, 45 years or so. It ended badly, as those things so often do, but I mostly remember the pure joy of the beginning. She flew me to the moon.... Time for more wine. Hoot
First off, welcome to our group. Next, I applaud your choice in music. Brubeck, Stan Getz, Krall, Astrud Gilberto, Chet Baker, etc. always hit the spot. I think most of us have had thoughts of past loves or events in the wee hours... For me, I might even add a cigar into the mix on rare occasions.
Oh - I love these posts, sharing your thoughts As for your choice in music ............. groovy ...............
I recall the scene all too well. Would love to illustrate it, explain it, submerse in the memory of it, but fear doing so. Today, I would go to jail. Then,. she being as "adult" at 16 as any 25 year old, willing, happy, acting out of pure love for another, gave me the one and only opportunity to believe I truly loved another............it has never been repeated. Today, I'd go to jail. What a set-back for today's young adults, who now must clandestinely go about yesterday's open business. Frank
Ah yes. I remember him well, the boy with the purple eyes. We were seventeen. The sun rose in his eyes.
Shirley - I agree. Do you suppose she remembers things the same way I do? Or, maybe the question should be, does she remember me at all? Hmmmm. I'll never know, of course.
