I have a cousin in St. Augustine who had a lot of damage from the previous hurricane. I invited him to come and stay with us until things blow over. He's optimistic that it'll stay south of him this time. I hope he's right.

Seems like quite a number of folks are staying here. Will know better come Saturday AM, when it is totally determined where Irma is going to hit here. As it stands right now, Irma will be close to our beaches, but not right on top of us AND, there is a possibility that she could wind up more "offshore", like Mathew was. Some folks are headed to Atlanta, but if those hotel/motels completely fill up, there will be some Floridians sleeping in the vehicles. Really don't want to do that in Atlanta.

So, pretty much this is what is about............"batten down the hatches, PRAY and wait it out.".

My son bought gas for our generators this morning. It looks like NC will be getting something from it.

My DGD sent me these pictures from Walmart at Zebulon this morning.

I called the drug store and got my prescriptions refilled this morning. If you or someone you know is in the path of Irma, it would be a good idea to get enough meds to last through a possible power outage.

We done it with Mathew and two Tropical Storms.

For those NOT in a Evacuation Zone, there is no real reason to leave, UNLESS they have small kids, babies or elderly family living with them that may have some serious health problems.

I just checked the locations of a couple of Public Shelters and, like us, they aren't in Evacuation Zones either.

Guess you'd have to be here to understand why a number of people aren't leaving.

Well the latest NHC forecast screams get out of Florida...
    upload_2017-9-7_17-53-27.png

That is hurricane force winds in Southern Georgia and lookout Atlanta.
    upload_2017-9-7_17-55-36.png

Georgia has a lot of neighborhoods with the kind of trees that can topple and take down power lines.
