Last year we made some larger scale dolls furniture out of Popsicle sticks ; . . . Again I did the 'heavy' work, cutting the timber, gluing and varnishing ... my wife made the bedding, cushions, and the little dog.
The family collage ; Wife Brenda and eldest granddaughter Jade top left, youngest daughter Naomi top right, eldest daughter Galadriel, me, second eldest granddaughter Amber, 'Binky' the male cat, youngest granddaughter Bonnie, second youngest granddaughter Jasmine, our calico 'Tinker', playtime with Bonnie.
Last Christmas I made these penguins out of clothes pegs and my wife knitted some pals for them ... THIS IS THE 'BLACK FIN GANG' a tough family from the rough side of the island ... This is MARY, MUNGO and MIDGE. they are very small but full of mischief. .
Everything is stunning ! Well done to you and yer Missus ! You are one proper family - nice that is I especially love the penguins - wonderful !
I love doing stuff like that and did for my daughter. I have all grandsons so the best I can do is build forts and Noah's ark and lots of legos.
My daughter still remembers the doll house I made for her Barbie dolls...the furniture too....just recently we had a good laugh remembering the sofa I made. It was made out of an old bathroom carpet...washed first of course.
The pictures are awesome of your family, @Jeff Tracy , and the kitty cats are beautiful, too ! I used to knit and crochet things for my kids when they were little, and then my grandkids; but not anything as adorable as the doll house or penguins. Mostly, I made slippers, socks, mittens, and winter caps for them. Robin would have never played with a doll house (or anything to do with dolls) anyway; so it would have been wasted time to even try to make her one of those. All she wanted , from before she could even walk, was to ride horses with her mom. By the age of 4-5, she was already riding her pony in the fairs and summer playdays.
An air-ambulance landing on the green next to where we live ... I think a tourist from Alabama had too much of the local ale ... kept mumbling about being one of Ken's Angels ???
This is nearby Sandwich Bay, took this at dawn. Down in the bottom left you can just make out a fisherman with his rod and a dog.
