Good morning everyone, its a wet and very windy morning here and have just given my daughters a lift to the local train station, as they are off to Liverpool to spend a weekend celebrating a friends birthday, so can't mention Liverpool without the Beatles so here are a couple of songs: and of course "Ferry Across the Mersey by Gerry & The Pacemakers Have a great day everybody wherever you are
Good morning one and all, it's 39 degrees under clear skies at 2am here in the notch and on Iowa's East beach. It's supposed to hit a high of only the low 50's today. I guess indian summer is over. That's ok. I'm ready for some snow cover. It's pretty tough sledding here without it. So, last night my daughter #2 brought me a new desk chair. Now I can quit using old squeaky. That should make my neighbor happy. The walls here are pretty thin. Yesterday I took my life in my hands and chanced a trip to the store. These trips are getting more exciting. Because streets are closed for repairs and traffic is being detoured down the streets around the store, crossing them is much harder. There are no traffic signals, just 4 way stop signs. Then, when you reach the store, your life is in danger crossing their parking lot. Oh well, something is gonna kill me anyway, I guess. So, it's another Saturday morning. In better days I would have spent it squirrel hunting, at this time of the year. When I was still married, I had an old cargo van. There were no seats in the back, so I put a camp cot along the wall. After a Friday night spent drinking beer, I would drive to my favorite hunting area, park in the woods off the road, and sleep on the cot. The rising sun would wake me, and off into the woods I would go. My poor wifey wouldn't expect to see me from when I left for work on Friday morning until sometime Saturday evening. Good ol' days.
I thought it was such a uniquely different take on James Brown's original. I could hardly recognize it, yet really liked it.
Another great day here today. We could use a nice steady rain though. Hearing you folks talk about speaking a language reminds me when I took Latin in high school. Didn't last a week. Swapped for a period of wood shop.
Our old preacher remembered what someone had written in the Latin book: "Latin is a language, at used it used to be....first it killed the Romans, and now it's killing me"!
Good morning everybody I am up early and waiting for the dawn, breezy day with rain is forecast so will have a lazy Sunday I guess. While waiting for the morning to come:
Good morning everyone. 6:00 am here and have been up an hour already. Son is starting to make an appearance.
Good morning all. 28 degrees at 6am under cloudy skies this Sunday morning. Had a bad night last night. Up about every hour. But, I made it up one more time, for the day. Was gonna do laundry and make a store run but, don't think I'll do anything today. I hope everyone else has a great day and enjoys good weather. C U later.
Good morning, Dave, glad you are enjoying the Sun! ...a little chilly, here, this morning! 34 degrees!
