The quick answer is the size..Prawns are bigger.... shrimp are very small.. but of course there's different types of shrimp as there are Prawns.. here's a more comprehensive answer Babs.. http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-the-difference-between-shrimp-and-prawns.htm
The shrimp my Honey loves to wrap in bacon are definitely not small unless prawns are big like lobsters? We do have different size shrimp. I used the small ones to make our shrimp garlic and jalapeno bread, the medium size in stews and gumbos, and the large and jumbo or colossal for the grill.
I always knew Prawns to be big but Ive seen very large shrimp also and they weren't called Prawns. The only kind of shrimp I don't like or ever buy are those teeny tiny frozen ones.
Last night I had corn bread and sweet milk for supper. Today at lunch I had a half cup of chili beans with a splashof pepper sauce and a couple of good shakes of Tabasco, a small cut of meatloaf and for desert, a half glass of whole milk with a cornbread muffin in it. All of it was some of that good.
Tonight I had to be a little bit quiet in the kitchen because hubs is asleep upstairs , so I just made some baby new potatoes in their skins smeared with herbs and butter , with some beer soaked ham...and Thinly sliced Salt beef..
