Good evening to you all, I have had a couple of sad days so have been in my own space, I am back to a more settled state now..... enjoy your weekend..... it's a snowy one here and about on freezing point.......... here is a video I took earlier.....
Happy Holidays everyone. I feel blessed this Christmas because all my daughters and their families are once again living here in the same City as we are and this Christmas we will all be gathered together as one again celebrating the birth of our Savior and enjoying all that goes along with the Christmas season. Today my Honey and I are going to finish our outdoor and indoor Christmas decor while we play our favorite Christmas music and enjoy his day off from work together too. It's going to be a beautiful day over here with lots of sunshine both outdoors and in our hearts today. May it be a peaceful and joyous day for each of you too.
I woke up feeling so peaceful and contented knowing our Christmas decor is all up inside and outside. Now we can move on to filling in our Christmas cards and mailing them off, wrapping presents for our grandkids, and making the "sweet treats" to share with friends and family. It's going to be another good day....hope it will that way for everyone.
Good evening to you all on this dark gloomy Sunday, Lisa has been busy with her online conference yesterday and today with a University in Poland, the professor who organises it is hilarious, he writes the most amusing emails I have come across, and seems quite a character...... I have been on phase two of the annual accounts, which I have been procrastinating on for over a week, but I am at least getting somewhere now. I will post the videos of yesterdays tram trip and a short clip from our metro return journey, we decided to come back to our new local restaurant for dinner. The food was excellent again and the atmosphere and decor great, but the waitresses leave a lot to be desired, the food came in the wrong order and everything got mixed up, our waitress also lacked warmth and was not welcoming, evidently the Georgians can come across like that, it's part of their nature ............... we enjoyed our meal though and had a second drink each, which is never a good idea for me, the Georgian beer is strong and though you feel good at the time, a couple of hours later I fell asleep on the bed here for three hours, so my nights sleep was all over the place I am more or less back to normal today until the next time............ A mixed bag of paintings by Russian artists....
It's still early but getting up at 5am instead of 2 or 3am is still a blessing to me. Yesterday these old bones of mine started aching late in the afternoon to let me know another weather change is coming for us in a few days. And sure enough the Weather forecaster on the News this morning agrees with my old bones. I have an appointment with my Optometrist this morning at 10am. It's new glasses time again and she will be able to tell me how much my cataracts have progressed from last year. I don't seem to be having much of a problem with them so far, just a little blurriness when my eyes are overtired from to much reading or being on the computer, etc. Yesterday I baked triple berry muffins and this morning I had another one of them with my coffee and it tasted just as good as the one I had yesterday did. I sure do enjoy my morning cup of coffee with different flavored creamers and a sweet treat to go with it...I hope I never have to give this enjoyment up while I'm on this earth. Enjoy your day everyone....
Going to be a decently warm day today, with high of 79. BUT, look out later this week, the "Deep Freeze" is going to come south and clobber us. Some 10+ degrees cooler will hit us. Boy we hate it when a Cold Front hits us in December and January. This is Florida............it's not suppose to be that cold! Grrrrrrrrrrrr
We are getting the cold front here, too. Tomorrow, it will start raining, and then get cold, and we are supposed to be in the 20’s at night for the rest of this week. It could snow, with the cold temperatures and rain in the forecast. I am sure that everyone here in Alabama will be wishing for snow for Christmas. That is because the only get a few inches of snow every now and then, and it is ways gone by the next day. If they had to actually contend with much snow, I am sure it would be a panic here. This is winter in north Idaho, back in the early 1950’s.
The only time Ive seen snow here is if you go up at least 5,000 ft to Shaver lake. Ive seen a few neighbors a few years ago bring a pick up truck worth down and dump in on their front lawn for the kids....didn't last long but was quite a sight!
I remember in December of 2006, when we lived south of Denver, Coloradolot of people there and the vicinity were wanting a “White Christmas”. Well, they got one! It was called The Holiday Blizzard and hit the week of Christmas.......all 7 feet of snow! Snow drifts higher than our Durango SUV. Snow was over 1/2 way up our garage door. My Director/Supervisor at work told me, “guess people here will watch what they wish for!” And, just think, this is what we definitely could be going back to.....a White Christmas and lots of snow after Christmas as well.
Good morning everyone. This morning in my prayer time I have been lifting up @Holly Saunders , @Patsy Faye @Ina I. Wonder and all of you who are having so much pain with your health problems. I asked that you be given relief from your pain and that healing be brought to each of you. It's hard enough getting older without the added burden of so much pain in our daily lives. I pray some or all of that pain may be lifted from those who need this. Yesterday I was so excited when my Optometrist told me that in 14 months my vision had such little change that I did not need new glasses. This has never happened before since I started wearing prescription glasses and I am hoping this good news came because I have been taking eye vitamins and eating more of the dark green veggies that contain lutein which is supposed to be good for your eyes. Since I am the only driver in our home now...I need my vision to be good for as long as possible. Tonight our cold spell will start heading in and I've got all the ingredients to make chicken sausage shrimp okra gumbo for tomorrow. Looking forward to this tasty dish. Be kind to yourselves and others today. And dwell on the good things in your life no matter how large or small those good things may be.
