It has been a cold, dreary day here. It has ben in the high 30's all day. Just to the south of us there was enough snow to shut schools down. My daughter lives in Birmingham and she posted lovely snow pictures on Facebook. Her little girl was out of school and her job even shut down due to the road conditions.
It is 40 right now, @Babs Hunt . It didn’t snow a bit here, although the radar looked like it should be snowing with the blue patches all over us. We must have been right near the edge of the snow line, which is totally FINE with me ! I can understand why it is so popular with people who have always lived down in the southern states, and rarely see any snow; but having lived most of my life where it gets several feet deep and lasts for almost 6 months of the year, It is perfectly fine with me when the snow misses us here. When I lived in Idaho and Washington, I had a little 2wheel drive Mazda pickup, and that was what I used even in the snow and ice. In the winter, I had 4 studded snow tires that I put on the truck, and then added a bale or two of heavy alfalfa hay in the back over top of the rear axle. This gave me enough traction that I was able to go most places that you needed a 4wheel drive to go. This is a picture of it in the winter, when I lived in Western Washington. Still snow there, but not nearly as much as I had in Idaho.
In case you don't know @Yvonne Smith , that picture is sideways... only saying because CC doesn't know sometimes either when she's posting from her Ipad..
I drive everywhere in the snow in my 2 wheel drive ..I have no option, but that's what makes it so dangerous..also because I live in a semi rural area.. so the salt trucks don't come and salt many of our roads.. here's some snow from the beginning of this year or last winter...
I remember you said you used to live where there was snow all the time @Yvonne Smith and I don't want to live in a place that has snow most of the winter either. I just thought that after that snow finished with us it might be heading your way.
Yvonne's picture is sideways on my laptop too. But I just turned my laptop to see the picture the right way.
I am sorry, everyone. I would change it; but with the new time length for editing a post, I can no longer do anything with it. My best suggestion is to get an ipad and then everything will always be right.........right, @Chrissy Cross ?
