Good morning everyone! Early here, 6:15 am. In the 60's still, brrrr Tomorrow we might reach 70 but after that it's back to the frigid 60's. Actually it does get cold at night and I do have to turn my heat on in the morning. The house cools off to 61 degrees during the night but I'm snug as a bug in my winter sheets and comforter. Pickles is also under a few blankets in his bed. When he lays down at night it's still warm enough and he's uncovered and it amazes me how well he can cover himself. His blankets are all on one side of his bed in a heap. I do hear grunting noises and will check to make sure he managed to cover up, if not I'd get up and do it for him...so far, he's always managed. It really amazes me.
Good evening from a mild Worcester, it's been a breezy day with some sun at 14c, I have spent most of the day sorting out various technology stuff on the computers here, I will take the bargain Russian laptop I bought on our Mexican vacation, so if it gets lost, stolen or damaged, it's no loss I have put all the software I need on it, and converted it to English from the Russian Windows installation it came with, it still starts with a couple of cyrillic screens but from then on it's readable Netflix removed "The Affair" from their UK site yesterday without warning we only had 5 episodes to go in season 3, but I managed to find a site streaming it for free, though not strictly legal, hopefully it will stay up long enough for us to finish it Here are some paintings I love from the contemporary Russian artist Gleb Goloubetski..... Born in Omsk in the former Soviet Union in 1975, Gleb Goloubetski displayed noticeable artistic talent as a child under the tutelage of his father who was also a successful painter. Gleb's formal training came from his studies at the highly acclaimed academy in St Petersburg where his work attracted much attention. Gleb's inspiration comes primarily from the aged architecture and geography of Europe. He travels extensively in the United Kingdom, the Mediterranean, the Far East, and Maui looking for images to paint. When he finds a view that inspires him, Gleb will sit and absorb it for some time, paying particular attention to how the natural light conditions of the day influence his perspective and moreover his emotional response. Returning to his main studio in St Petersburg, Gleb will sit and consider his reference material. Reminding himself of scale, he then begins to paint. It is Gleb's emotional response to the subject that he conveys to the canvas, in oil, with only his palette knife.
Wonderful paintings Terry When you download stuff to watch are you able to watch on your TV ? If so, which is a reliable site ? @Terry Page
Good Morning all on the last day of 2017. I won't be sorry to see the end of this year. What a year it's been. For everything that's happened this year it's incredible to think it was only 12 months long... Hoping everyone has a better year in 2018. Raining hard here this morning. I found a brand new fold up bike for sale on Facebook, which they're selling for less than a quarter of the price , so I'm going to go and look at it today, and see if it would be any good for me . It might be too big for me, but if it's not I'll buy it, and it'll be handy to help me lose some weight in the new Year...my diet start tomorrow... *yikes*.. I've got an Amazon delivery due today, what's the betting it arrives during the time we go out to look at the bike? Have a good Sunday everyone... and a Happy New year to you all...
Good morning everyone and Happy New Year's Eve to all. Nice day weatherwise here with a high of 67 but foggy in the morning but as long as I don't have the drive to my daughter's I don't care. I am going to the store but short trips in fog don't bother me. @Holly Saunders ...what kind of bike are you talking about? Stationary or for riding outside? I'd like a stationary one because I love riding the one at PT but it's super comfy seat wise and I doubt I could afford one of that quality for my house, plus I want one that easily moved etc. 2017 wasn't the greatest year for me either so I'm hoping 2018 will be different ...hope it's great for all of us on here...we deserve it! @Babs Hunt ... missing you on here. @Terry Page ...have fun in Mexico but be careful, I know you like to go off away from tourist places but Mexico can be dangerous. That is one country my kids stay at the resort they're at and don't explore.
It's a folding cycle for riding outside,...just with little wheels you know?...but I didn't end up having that one today, it really was built for a man. I could lower the seat and the handlebars but the frame was too long so I would have had to stretch to reach the handlebars...so, no good for me !! I don't want a stationary bike, I used to have one , and didn't like it... but I would love to have a running machine.. but unfortunately I don't have room for one..
Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a good last day of 2017, or maybe you are already in 2018, I am off to my daughter Caroline's now to start the celebrations, be back later...
Thanks yes @Chrissy Cross I will, but I am renting a car to drive around the Yucatan Peninsula, though I will avoid driving at night. We are flying to Mexico city and back for a few days, where I wont be driving
I don't have a TV @Patsy Faye and watch everything on my laptop or tablet, often in bed, my daughter has a smart TV with Amazon and Netflix on and I am sure she can watch them. ........................ my preference has become watching in bed though in my dotage
