Neil Diamond Has Parkinsons' Disease

The singer Neil Diamond have revealed that he is retiring from touring and has cancelled all his concerts after announcing he is suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

I love ND... he's always been a wonderful singer songwriter, I hope he can go on writing songs for a long time yet....but I do wish they could find a cure for PD.... my father died from the effects of disease too..

 

I know firsthand how it is. There is no way he can stand on the stage but recording songs should not be a problem. He has had many of my favorite songs.

 

I love his songs. I'm sad to hear that he has Parkinson's. This is one of my favorite songs.

 

ooooh it's one of my top favourites too @Shirley Martin ...along with this one... which was in the charts when I was a young teen and still at school..




In truth there's very few ND songs I don't like.. and it's amazing how many songs he's written that have been hits for other people too..

Still a great fan of his, but all of you know that wife and I are much more into Motown, Old/Classic Rock and the older Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait type country music.

But, he will forever be a great singer.

 

You live long enough you are going to end up having something health wise to deal with. I have lots of music by Neil Diamond and his DVD Movie "The Jazz Singer"...he's one of my favorites for sure and I wish him well with his health problems.

 

he's got it at the same age as my father got it... and my father died after several mini strokes brought on by the PD...5 years later.. ...

 

I hope they find a cure for PD and all diseases. I am a fan of Neil Diamond. I broke all my 8 tracks of ND and my cassettes playing them too often. I saw him on the 2018 NY New Years ball dropping at Time's Square. Sure is sad news. I just saw on Twitter Moments that Elton John is retiring too from touring. Yes I read that about Elton..I think he's probably entitled to a rest from touring after 50 years ..I know he lost his mother this year , so he's probably realising that if he doesn't start easing up he might not be around for long for his own small children..

 

Aloha. I've been so busy. Life changes...Mom passed...got older...taxes...well you know life gets busy.

Very sad to hear this and to deal with. Parkinson's is a devastating disease. It has so many facets.
