G'morning all... Couldn't be a more different day today than yesterday. Grey, windy, cold and damp.. today..compared to yesterdays' glorious sun. This is why we in the UK can't put summer or winters clothes away until the next season...because one day we're wearing shorts and Tee-shirts, and the next jumpers and coats... Hubs has a day off today, he's gone to collect his car from a specialist car place about 50 miles away... where it's been getting some TLC... so I've asked him to pick up some groceries for me on the way back, that way I can stay indoors nice and cosy and watch tv..lol Happy Shrove Tuesday everybody... I've already cooked pancakes for breakfast...
Good Morning. It's Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) Day over here although Mardi Gras festivities and Parades have been going on for the last couple of weeks and getting ready for thes festivities, balls, and parades have been going on for even longer. Someone started a Petition in New Orleans to ban throwing the bead necklaces from the Floats during Mardi Gras because they are gawdy and cause pollution, etc. It doesn't surprise me to hear this....but Mardi Gras without its beads would be like Christmas without presents, etc. and I don't think this Petition is going to get very far. But then again...you just never know what is going to happen anymore. I did make my chicken gumbo with chicken and smoked sausage, and some rotel and okra that I had left in our freezer. It was simply delicious. I also made some chili with beans and with the oven burgers and chicken noodle soup I made on Sunday...our refrigerator is full of food once again. With our temps in the 40's again today any of these things are just wonderful for warming our tummies while tempting our taste buds too. Yummy. I was supposed to go watch my youngest grandson this morning while my daughter met with her older sisters and they took their older kids to the last parades today but with a 40% chance of rain she decided not to go. I think it's a good idea not to go into the crowds anyway since the flu is still going around and they certainly don't need to bring that home along with the beads they might catch. She did ask me to come and visit if I feel like it and I have their Valentine's so I just may pop over there if the rain isn't bad. May you know joy and laughter today.
Good Morning! Will tell about my Eye Consultation with an eye surgeon yesterday later. Interesting, but definitely more costly than we thought. Don't understand why an eye surgeon's office would exam my eyes. Why couldn't my eye doctor send to them the results he found during his exam last Oct.? The eye surgeon could have just discussed with me those results and what he/she would recommend not going thru pretty much the same eye tests my eye doctor gave me. Of course the eye surgeon is going to recommend surgery, whereas my eye doctor didn't.

Good morning. Yesterday I had a good workout at PT. While I was gone the repairman came a fixed our dishwasher. $82.53. The Explorer is still in the shop. They haven't found the problem yet. My wife is hinting I should just buy her a new one.
Good Morning all on Valentines day.... It's another grey grim and windy day My husband has the day off today, ( I think this is the first Valentines day he's ever not worked) ... he presented me with 2 boxes of expensive chocolates ( my favourite kind lol)... a packet of smoked salmon , a pack of fresh Scallops... ( all my favourites)... and a pack of smoked salmon mousse crudities ( who needs flowers ..not me lol)... he's gone out to play with his car engine currently... but he's promised if I feel like going out to either to Lunch or Dinner later...he's happy to take me... Whatever you're doing today....together or alone...I wish you all a lovely Day...
