My thoughts exactly - although in my case I do dress to make 'me' feel better.
A lovely pretty dress makes me feel so happy :)

That's a bit different Chrissy - if there's not enough women in town, then Granny clothes ain't gonna change their minds :p

True, but what I'm just saying is that when it come to rape....the men don't care...countless of old ladies have been raped.

A rapist doesn't care if his victim is pretty...just that she's right there at the right time and alone.

    You're right
I guess my question is why would a woman want to promote herself in a 'hooker' type way
I'll never understand Chrissy, especially the way things are today

I don't know but I just honestly think it doesn't really matter....Weinstein would have done what he did to any woman that came into his office...wether they had on a suit or dressed like a hooker.

It matters to me, hate to see it
Not many Audrey Hepburns left - although George Clooney chose a classy lady
do love to see elegant or pretty women, the rest are two for a penny

That is certainly true Chrissy and women should not have to put their body's up for auction in order to achieve a successful status in any type of career.
BUT, how many women do just that? How many women use their body as part of the negotiations just because they do indeed know that whoever is in charge of the cash will take them up on it?
To appeal to and fulfill a man's sexual fantasies in order to climb the financial ladder is nothing but glorified prostitution but we have to be honest about how many very successful actresses and business women planned for it before they did it.
Every woman on the planet knows that men are sexually aggressive and as a man, I am not ashamed of what comes natural to a man but I am ashamed of men who think with their zippers and moreover, are unable to keep them zipped at the sight of a pushup bra.
Woe to the king who would give up keys to his kingdom for the single key to a chastity belt.

The bottom line on dress is that a woman can indeed be dressed in sackcloth and be accosted but there is something about a woman who is scantily clad that simply says, "I'm available" and willing.
I personally do not care how much or how little a lady wears because I know the difference in liking what I see and lusting after it but the ladies have to consider how many of me are out there versus how many guys are easily redirected and some of them, dangerous.

I think that women who dress like this do it to attract men ... and when men do approach them, they'll accept drinks/company etc from the blokes they fancy but if a bloke they don't fancy has the gall to look at them 'the wrong way' they'll accuse him of sexism ... seen it loads of times while working in pubs

    I agree with May Benot.
There is a strong element of hypocracy in the look but don't touch defense.
it is defensive logic and dressing cheaply to promote non-sexism may be viewed by men to be a wilful act of provocation.
Dressing up to be attractive and dressing sexy are two entirely different things. The former,( and this is a personal viewpoint )invites admiration for the dress, trouser suit ,whatever, while the latter is intended to show off the curves and therefore attract attention to the woman's body.

Why ,pray tell, would you want to be sexually attractive to yourself ?
Male or female, you dress sexy to attract sexual attention and hence, the sexual desires, thought's and glances of other's.
One problem that can arise from that is that all women may then be seen in the same light.Behaving this way is a hindrance to establishing equal respect not a help.
It appear's to me that there is a certain element of holier than thou women in positions of influence who attempt to promote feminism with one step forward and two steps back.

Um... women dress to get approval of other women.... women comment on each other about their mode of dress- hair and makeup.
Men on the other hand,do not really care what you wear most of the time- and refrain from comment unless asked.
Women are more critical of each other and themselves when dressing. How many (straight men) men, do you know who turn to their pal Bob and ask... Does this shirt make me look fat?
    Zero !
