Ist let me say that I am profoundly deaf. In order for me to hear the TV I must wear headphones AND my heading aids. Ok, now the problem. Occasionally I'll have a guest(s) over to my place. After dinner we may wish to watch a movie. If I unplug the headphones so my guest can hear the movie, then I can't hear. And vice versa. As you already know. when we plug in the headphones, the speakers shut off. Is there any way possible that all of us can hear the movie ? ie with me wearing the headphones and my guest(s) hearing the speakers ? Hopefully this can be done without costing a small fortune. Thank you
A lot depends on type of Television and your type of headphones. As an example: "How to use headphones and TV speakers simultaneously on a Samsung Smart TV". If you can provide make and model, I might be able to access some of the boards, that deal with this. However, I can make no promises of resolution.
The TV is a Westinghouse Model WD32HT1360 Current system > TV audio out > to Stereo Amp Shelf speakers are plugged into the Amp As mentioned above, I have an option of plugging in the headphones or using the speakers but NOT both
That eliminates the multi audio, as the manual doesn't provide. If you have cable or some type of set top box, plug the headphones in there, if ouput is available. Would a splitter possibly work, either from the TV to the amp or amp to speakers? Still searching.
Hi Harry, Obviously you know a great deal more than I do about this stuff and I thank you for your assistance. I do not have cable TV. I just have WiFi for my laptop. I'm not sure what you mean about a splitter. I know WHAT a splitter is. I'm just not sure how you would set that up. P.S. speakers have only a simple 2 pole wire coming out of the back. (no other possible inputs to the speakers)
Eric, are your hearing aids Bluetooth compatible? If so, you may be able to do it with an attachment to your hearing aid. Most hang around your neck on a chain or cord.
Is it possible for you to provide a photo of the rear of the tv? If not, does your television have a HDMI port?
I will be out for a while but will check back to see how progress in helping you is going. Before I go I found this link. I hope it is helpful. https://www.oticon.global/support/usage-situations/tv
Haven't completely forgotten. The problem is what type of splitter that might work out of the optical audio in back of your TV. The standard Y won't make the grade. Another question.... where do you plug your headphones?
