Before Jorge started singing the words to My Way in Spanish, I told my wife "I recognize the music to this song", but couldn't think of the name of the song. She immediately told me it was Frank Sinatra's "My Way". We have Santana's Greatest Hits cd and I automatically knew the music to Oye Como Va.
Yes we've heard just about every well known song in Spanish too... it often sounds better too, lol...or perhaps for us it's just familiarity breeding contempt which makes us enjoy the foreign version more..

It's easy to see where my mind is this morning. It's getting closer to the time we leave for my sister's home in Pensacola and plenty of beach time and I'm so ready to hear the music of the waves again and to dig my feet into the warm sand once again. It will also be nice to spend some time with my sisters who live over there too. If I would have waited until sometime in June to take this vacation then I would have had one more sister living there too. My sister and her husband who live in Georgia are selling their home there and will be residents of Fort Walton Beach, FL once again sometime in June. Her husband is quite a few years older than her and his health has really taken a turn for the worse and they can no longer live where it is so isolated up in the mountain areas of Georgia and where the Doctors they need are not close enough to them. So with some help from some of my siblings in FL and one of my brothers here in Louisiana they will be packed up and moved back to Florida by June. My sister's husband is finally ready to make that move...so everyone is looking forward to it now. Over here in Louisiana things are good. The rental Duplex across from us is almost finished, the driveway and parking area are supposed to be paved next week so after that is good and dry I suppose it won't be long before we have new neighbors. We've been praying that the new neighbors will be good ones and that maybe a new friend will be found among them. We will be putting a privacy fence up though, my Honey and our former Landlord and next door neighbor will be the ones doing this and our now Landlord is supposed to pay for at least half of it...if not all. This is the one we have decided we want to put up. It will blend in better with all nature's beauty around us and will give us a little more height for privacy too. Good evening folks, I have been busy all day finishing off the refurbishment of the kitchen sink cupboard here, I left it while I decorated Elizabeth's bedroom last week. I have put in a new shelf and repaired the splashback/backsplash and repainted it all. I feel ready for some restful times now ..... I have two clear days before I go to Russia for two months, so I will concentrate on buying cheese and other foods plus packing, I will take two checked in suitcases this time, to even up the weight. I am having an early night to try and catch up on lost sleep.... I hope you are all having or have had a good weekend.....
Good morning all, my day yesterday was so hectic, full of lots of little finishing off jobs, that I didn't get chance to post anything I won the Bingo jackpot last night, so I am rich for a few minutes, my suitcases are packed and ready to go to the airport, it's 5am here and the dawn is just breaking.
