Thanks, Holly. What a relief. :)
"g" stands for a grin und "ggg" for a (very) big grin :D for want of an emoji or if you can't be bothered to insert one. It's just faster.

For the time being, remember this, please:
....you must promise me one thing:
    never shall you ask me,
    nor trouble yourself to know,
    whence I journeyed,
what my name is, or what my origin...:D

    More questions to come....

@Holly, hope you don't mind my more lighthearted reply. :) It just sprang to my mind. The answer is yes, you might take me for a German. Just out of curiosity, what made you think I might be from Germany? And what does it tell you? o_O

Nothing it, tells me nothing..lol... I lived and worked in Germany for a short time over 20 years ago...but I don't know if you're German..I'm not sure tbh, because most Germans I've known haven't been so lighthearted .. polite, pleasant but not much fun..but I did suspect you might be German because you're English is much more British than American, but you used a word that's kind of gone out of fashion in the UK..when you said in your reply to Tim Burr..''just fancy'' when talking about your bike, so I guessed English wasn't your first language ..but maybe I'm wrong..maybe you're English in Germany and just old fashioned LOL.

Yes, you're right, I may be a bit old-fashioned and should stop reading ancient books. It kind of rubs off...No, I'm not English. Believe it or not, I did have a bad feeling when I was using the expression. I should be following my gut feeling much more often. o_O Thinking about it, doesn't the time lag also give us a clue as to where a person might be located? Seems to me that at the time we were writing the people from across the ocean were still sleeping.

LOL, quite close. Actually, I'm a bit of an ornamental hermit and a woodgnome.:) ... rather the former...

Some of us are more nocturnal than others. Having spent most of my working life either working the graveyard shift or, while a paramedic, working sporadic hours, it's not unusual for me to go to bed after the sun has come up. In my old(er) age, I have learned that I feel better when I go to bed around midnight and get up early in the morning but, especially when I am working on something, I often work until daylight. Since I work on my computer, that means that I am in and out of the forum throughout the night.
