The cello concert yesterday went well it was different to several others I have been to, in that it was in a small arts centre rather than a palace, so was more intimate. A few photos below of the lunch we had on the way and the concert. We went again to our newly discovered Georgian place close to Lisa's apartment. Lunch The Concert They played one of my favourite pieces by Ravel The journey home on the Metro
Lisa looks lovely and you are ooking handsome as ever! Food looks good too, you certainly are fortunate in the life you lead.
Spent an interesting morning with no electricity and so no internet, made me realise how different my life has become over the past decade. A few years ago a power cut would have been a mild inconvenience with no lights or TV if I needed it. Today I felt cut off from the world as I spend so much time on the internet on forum's and in contact with my family at home. Read some bits of travel books instead and talked to Lisa until she left for work, then dozed until the power suddenly came on again. All is back to normal now, whatever that is.
Pretty music. A the smaller venue sounds better to me than a palaceā¦.more personal and peaceful. But after a warm and hearty lunch with a glass of Red, Ravel would be rocking me to sleep. I trust you had a good nap beforehand. You look very contented. Good pics of you both.
I'm not sure whether a power cut is worse in cold weather or hot. I remember having a few outages in Eritrea when the temperature was over 40C. There wasn't much you could do apart from sit quietly and wait for the resumption.
The heating here wasn't affected nor cooking or hot water as that is gas, so it came down to the internet and light really, not a big deal.......................but then addictions...................oh dear
I'd rather have an outage in cold weather and have in the Midwest than one in Fresno in the summer where our temps are 110F, during the day you could go out to a movie or a mall to keep cool but at night it was torture. Once when I lived with a boyfriend we went to a motel for the night but that was before I had My dog.
Today I have power and light and only one task to cook dinner, so I can relax and browse and carry on planning our next summer's vacation, which is to Malaysia, top of Lisa's list so have booked flights via Dubai on Emirates so far. I seem to live a part of my life in the future which I guess one day I will never get to I do enjoy the planning phase almost as much if not more than the as the vacation though The next trip is in January/February to Sri Lanka which was booked a year ago, I had almost forgotten it I guess as it's raining now so I will listen to some suitable music.
He looks like me when I empty my car after a trip to the stores. My garage is a block away from my house so I always think I can carry everything in one trip, until I start to pile it all up at the curb and realize I don't have enough hands, shoulders or upper body strength. But two or three trips to the house and back is still a lot cheaper than checking my luggage, I know.
I don't know. That Secret Garden Rainy Day music makes me sad although I have nothing to be sad about. But then I clicked on another of theirsā¦glutton for punishment. It's just so beautiful but at the same time tugs at my heart strings. I can only take so much of that. I'm glad you posted it though because I had never heard it before and it's lovely. It's raining here too...has been for days.
