Good morning! A little cooler today but not much, 98 for a high. Today June 25 is the 14th anniversary of the death of my husband. ❤️ Will go on an very early walk with Pickles...then errands...lots! Think I'll check out the silver sneakers gyms today because I'm not getting a good walk with Pickles and to go twice is just too hot later. Have a great day!!
Going to be hot here again today, and with the humidity, pretty bad. Definitely not for Seniors to be "out and about" in. I do, and don't, understand how so many people can live in Florida with the summer humidity as high as it gets. But, there are those "Snowbirds" that have it made and can afford to have two homes, one being a winter one in Florida.
I think summer is usually pretty hot almost everywhere in the states. It's been pretty bad for about. 2 weeks where my son lives ...upper 90's and thunderstorms...betting the humidity is horrid. Even my sister in Colorado was complaining last week, too hot. Then some states it's on the cold side for summer which isn't fun if you have an in ground pool like my sister in NJ. Most places you just gotta take the good with the bad.
Well, I have both a Colorado News App and a Wyoming News App and neither gets anywhere near the humidity like it gets here. We know it can get hot in Colorado, but, for us anyway, it was a "nicer" hot, because of very low humidity. As far as "taking the good with the bad", that's what we keep telling people here about the yearly weather in CO or WY and they still don't understand why anyone would chose to live in a snow area. I tell them that Minnesota, Wisconsin and Buffalo NY have a lot rougher winters than either CO or WY and there are lots of people that still live in those two states and in Buffalo, which is commonly called "the refrigerator of the U.S"., they somewhat understand.
Yes, I know Colorado,is less humid. I have no,problem understanding why someone would want to live in a snow area. I have no problem u derstandinh why anybody wants to live wherever they do...everyone is different in their likes and dislikes. I like cold and snow and miss it. I have my sisters weather and the rest of my family on my app...looks like a hot week in CO. And where they live it's usually cooler than The springs. They'll get snow when there is none in Colorado Springs. My sisters weather...
It is going to be in the 90’s here all week (with lots of humidity) here in Alabama, too. I am doing any outside work early in the mornings, whenever possible. Since we have been getting quite a bit of rain lately, I have not had to water the garden as much as usual during the hot part of summer. It is only about a week until the Fourth of July, so we have lots of firecrackers going off (especially at night) already, and this will only increase for the rest of the week. Since the 4th comes mid-week, it will probably end up being more like a two-weekend celebration this year, with parties and lots of noise starting this weekend and lasting all next week. This year seems like it has gone really fast to me. It seems like not so long ago, I was happy to have the warmer weather again, and enjoying being outside in the sunshine and planting the veggies in the garden.
It stays in the upper 60s and low 70s here. It has been nice the last few days, but is is supposed to start raining tomorrow. We'll see. The forecast is usually wrong. Have a good week everyone!
That's what my daughter's temps tend to be in the summer here on the coast, minus the rain. Go inland 150 miles to Fresno and it's in the 100's all summer. Good morning everyone....cooler today, 99! Busy day today, checking out the gym plus errrands...just got paid! Have a great day!
Oh my, the cardinal is really creating a splash! Thanks for that picture, @Maryt Hope. I cleaned out an old unused birdbath and filled it with water last week. Nothing seems interested yet. Have only seen one hummingbird so far. They seem to always take a break in June and come back in July. I wish I could figure out their schedule. Good Morning, everyone!
Good morning everyone! 99 today so a tad cooler. Checked out the one silver sneakers gym...couldn't find it. I knew I wouldn't, I never find anything that's in the area near the hospital...it's a maze. Even if I had found it, doubt I'd go, just a pain to drive there...one of the trafficiest areas in Fresno. I have one more place to try in Clovis...not close but at least it's a straight shot, almost. I do have a Curves within walking distance but I don't like Curves, I was a member there about 11 years ago but it may be my only option...better than nothing. Anyway...going out with Pickles for a short walk soon before it gets too hot...I'll figure out what I'm doing after that. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
