I love to read and am a HISTORY BUFF so there is plenty of material. Love good films as well. I play chess and bridge. Computer activity will take much of my time as well.
There was a time when I would have thought that would be about as far from anything that I'd want as anything I could think of, but I get it. I'm not ready for it yet, and unlikely to be able to afford it, but I can see the attraction in it, as it will leave you with time to do the things you enjoy most and can do best. I wish you well with it.

We were in North Carolina for just short of two years. Millinocket has been our home base since we bought the house in 2000.
in Texas...but did live in St Joe Mo. about 49 yers a. ago.Have been to Oklahoma Arkansas Missouri Mississippi Wisconsin and a quick in out of Nebraska

We are living in the 9th house that we own. For awhile we were averaging 2.5 years per move. Our shortest was 1 month before I was transferred. Never even got to make a mortgage payment. Longest is 11 years. Our friends and family kept our address and phone numbers written in pencil in the address books. There were some places above that I had lived in twice.
I have never lived more than twenty miles from where I live now. Sometimes I envy you people who have led such adventurous lives. But we play the cards we are dealt.
Sometimes I wish I had stayed home, cultivating long-standing close relationships with those who have known me my entire life. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, I think.
I guess I didn't really have anything to say about most of the places I've lived. We gladly followed my Dad as he did his time in the Navy, racking up some serious miles. San Diego, CA Virginia Beach, CA Long Beach, CA Charleston, SC Hononulu, Hi ( 3 times ) Panama City, Fl When my youngest was old enough to travel after he was born, we were off to the UK. In the 21 years I did in the military, we got to experience some interesting and great places to live. Me ( before getting married ) Denver, Co Anderson AFB, Guam Da Nang, RV Minot, ND Shemya Island, AK Omaha, NE After getting married: Wethersfield, UK Alconbury, UK Somersham, UK Moreno Valley, CA Red Cloud, NE Every place had it's good and bad. Even though we've been here in Nashville for almost 10 years, I don't really think our quest for other places to live is quite over...
Thank you for your response David. It's taken a real adjustment on my part and it's on going. I am quite comfortable and eat some fabulous meals. Due to my hearing disability I feel socially isolated and live a pretty lonely life. I occupy my self with books and the computer
@Lon Tanner As one also unable to hear very well, I can well appreciate your isolated feeling. My wife will ask something, or make a remark from the other room, if I don't respond, she yells louder; I ask if it's important, she then says, either, "Get over here", or, "Forget it!" Frank
Lon I'm sorry you feel so socially isolated in such a beautiful place, but I'm confused , I thought you got some top of the range hearing aids a few months ago?>..No?
I am profoundly deaf with any kind of hearing aid and had a COCHLEAR IMPLANT DEC,2017. I am still in the process of learning to hear with the implant.
